Abstract:
A process for the manufacturing and filling of plastic containers, the process comprising the steps of: positioning a preform with relation to a mold assembly of two or more components, the preform generally being fabricated from a plastic and being provided with a longitudinal axis and presenting a stretchable portion and a non-stretchable portion; stretching the preform along its longitudinal axis; injecting a fluid into the interior volume of the preform, the fluid being under such pressure as to cause the preform to plastically deform until achieving the desired size and shape; and releasing the container from the mold assembly and sealing the container, and in which at least a portion of the stretchable portion of the perform is at a temperature below its vitreous transition temperature (Tg) and, preferably, at ambient temperatures.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a method and a device for determining the gas permeability of barrier coatings (1) in the region of container walls (2). A quantity of gas to be analyzed emerging from the region of the wall of the container into an analysis chamber that is at least partially defined by the barrier coating is measured in said analysis chamber (8). Before entering the analysis chamber, the gas to be analyzed is located in the region of the wall. The measuring element can be integrated into a coating device for the container. To this end, a testing device provided with the measuring element is arranged in the transport direction of the container behind the coating device.
Abstract:
The present invention is directed to a flexible pouch-like disposable package (1) made from a thermoplastic film having a thickness of less than (100) microns, comprising a package body, characterized in that the package body comprises at least two walls, one of said walls comprising a filling area (2) for filling said package (1) with a flowable product (3), said walls being disposed adjacent to one another so that after filling, said walls can be sealed together by a seal (24) disposed around said area (2) so that the package (1) is hermetically closed.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a method of delivering a predetermined volume of beverage into a thermoplastic container formed from a heated preform positioned in a mold, characterized in that the product includes a step of injecting at least some beverage into a recess in the preform so as to promote expansion of the preform inside the mold, the mold defining the shape of the container, a volume of beverage introduced during the injection step being at least equal to said predetermined volume, and, in addition, the method includes a step of sucking out a fraction of said volume of the beverage introduced until the volume of beverage remaining in the container is approximately equal to said predetermined volume.
Abstract:
The present invention is related to a method for the direct production of polyester articles for packaging purposes, in particular for the production of hollow bodies, thermoformed sheets and films, said articles containing an amount of acetaldehyde less than 10 ppm. This method is characterised in that it essentially comprises a step in which the initial level SE0 of the sum of end groups in the polymer melt is increased by adding a mixture of at least one inert and at least one reactive substance to said polymer melt to a second level SE1 and a degassing step consisting in essentially applying a vacuum to the previously obtained polymer melt to cause a removal of low molecular weight substances present and formed, of non reacted reactive substance(s) and inert substance(s) added during previous step before the so obtained polymer melt is directly converted into the desired articles.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a secondary package for gathering a plurality of primary packages, comprising an envelope that surrounds the plurality of primary packages so as to tightly hold the latter together, said envelope comprising a base supporting the primary packages, lateral sides, and a top side, characterized in that: (i) said base comprises a medium folding line that pivotally connects two halves of the base supporting the primary packages, and further comprises a carrying handle that is disposed vertically along the medium folding line, and (ii) the lateral sides and the top side of the envelope comprise a transversal precut in the region of the medium folding line, and so that when the envelope is open along said precut, it still holds tightly the primary packages disposed on each of the two base halves and said halves can be pivoted around the medium folding line to allow complete access to the carrying handle.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a composite package (8) linked together into a single unit, and comprising a plurality of individual containers (1, 2, and 3) of varying shapes and/or volumes and being assembled according to different orientations in the composite package. In the composite package are defined strong and weak containers according to their mechanical resistances on which apply external loads. According to the invention, the strong containers are arranged in their orientation along the direction(s) of external loads placed upon the composite package thereby protecting the weakest ones.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a device for delivering a beverage into a thermoplastic container formed from a heated preform, the preform being approximately cylindrical and positioned in a mold, characterized in that it includes injection unit for injecting at least one beverage into a recess in the preform so as to promote expansion of the preform inside the mold, the mold defining the shape of the container, the injection unit comprising an injection head designed to inject at least one beverage through a mouth of the recess, the injection head being integrated into the mold.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a method of and a device for delivering a predetermined volume of beverage into a thermoplastic container formed from a preform positioned in a mould having an opening opposite an injection head (18), characterized in that the method includes a prior step of exposing the preform to a sterilizing fluid supplied by a first circuit connected to the injection head (18) and a step of injecting, into a recess of the preform, at least some of the beverage supplied by a second circuit connected to the injection head (18) so as to promote expansion of the preform inside the mould, the mould defining the shape of the container.
