An apparatus includes a fluidic coupler including an opening. A first port is in fluid communication with the opening and is to interface with an inlet of a flow cell of a sensor device. A second port is to interface with an outlet of the flow cell of the sensor device. A third port is in fluidic communication with the second port. The apparatus further includes a mechanical assembly moveable between a first position and a second position. The fluidic coupler is secured to the flow cell of the sensor device in the first position. The fluidic coupler is disengaged from the flow cell of the sensor device in the second position.

A method of applying a fluid composition to a flow cell of a sensor device includes inserting the sensor device into a holder; pipetting an aliquot of the fluid composition into a pipette tip; and applying the aliquot of the fluid composition to an opening of a fluidic connector engaged with the flow cell of the sensor device. The fluidic connector includes a body; and a plurality of fluidics interfaces formed in the body, each fluidic interface of the plurality of fluidics interfaces includes an opening, a first port in fluid communication with the opening, a second port, and a third port in fluidic communication with the second port.

A clamp device includes a frame; a carriage slidably engaged with the frame and including a receptacle to receive a cartridge including fluidics ports and electronic contacts, the carriage slidable between an open position and a closed position; a fluidics interface to engage the fluidics ports of the cartridge when the carriage is in a closed position; an electronic interface to engage the electronic contacts of the cartridge when the carriage is in the closed position; a driver to draw the fluidics interface and the electronic interface together, the cartridge secured between the electronic interface and the fluidics interface; and a sensor system to detect the presence of the cartridge in the receptacle and configured to prevent the driver from drawing the fluidics interface and electronic interface together when the cartridge is absent.
