摘要: A voice processing device includes: a sound pickup to receive sounds respectively from a plurality of locations; and circuitry to: identify, from the plurality of locations, a sound source location at which a sound source exists, as a current sound source location; specify at least one location of the plurality of locations other than the current sound source location, from at least one sound source location that has been identified as the sound source location during a past predetermined time period, as a specified source location at which a sound to be enhanced exists; enhance a sound from the current sound source location, and a sound from the specified source location; and output an audio signal including the enhanced sounds.

摘要: In order to obtain a quality image without deterioration owing to radiation noise in inspection using the optical video camera in high radiation environment, an inspection apparatus is formed of an image pick-up unit, an image obtaining unit which fetches a video image that contains a signal (noise) that is substantially independent of each frame obtained by the image pick-up unit, a local alignment unit which locally aligns frames with different time phases for forming the image fetched by the image obtaining unit, a frame synthesizing unit which synthesizes the plurality of frames aligned by the local alignment unit for generating a synthesis frame with an SN ratio higher than the SN ratio of the frame before frame synthesis, and an image output unit for displaying or recording the image formed of the synthesis frame generated by the frame synthesizing unit.

摘要: A method includes providing a eukaryotic cell including mutant mtDNA in which there is at least one mutation in the mtDNA, allowing the cell to come into contact with an active oxygen species or a chemical species that generates such an active oxygen species in the cell (e.g., hydrogen peroxide) and thereby changing the percentage of mutant mtDNA (mitochondrial genomic DNA) in the cell as a result of the contact. Also featured are cells obtained by the above-described method.

摘要: A method and apparatus for inspecting defects includes emitting an ultraviolet light from an ultraviolet light source, illuminating a specimen with the ultraviolet light in which a polarization condition of the ultraviolet light is controlled, controlling a polarization condition of light reflected from the specimen which is illuminated by the polarization condition controlled ultraviolet light, detecting the light reflected from the specimen, processing the detected light so as to detect defects, and outputting information about the defects. The ultraviolet light source is disposed in a clean environment supplied with clean gas and separated from outside.

摘要: A technology for controlling the generation of damages of a photoconductive surface caused due to the attachment of a carrier to a photoconductor in an image forming apparatus using a two-component developing agent is provided. An image forming apparatus is configured to include an intermediate transfer body having prescribed elasticity on a transfer surface onto which a toner image is transferred; plural image carriers which transfer a toner image onto the transfer surface and which are disposed along a movement direction of the transfer surface of the intermediate transfer body; plural development sections which form toner images having a different color from each other with respect to the plural image carriers by using a two-component developing agent made of a toner and a carrier; and developing agent replenishment sections which replenish a toner and a carrier in the development sections.
