摘要: A method of sample analysis is provided. The method comprises: a) contacting a genomic sample comprising a plurality of intact chromosomes, i.e., metaphase or interphase chromosomes, with a first set of labeled oligonucleotide probes under in situ hybridization conditions to produce a contacted sample comprising labeled chromosomes, where i. each of the labeled oligonucleotide probes is complementary to a non-repetitive, unique sequence in a region that flanks the centromere of a single chromosome of the plurality of chromosomes; and ii. hybridization of the labeled oligonucleotide probes to the chromosomes produces a distinct labeling pattern for each hybridized chromosome, thereby allowing each of the labeled chromosomes to be distinguished from one another; b) imaging the hybridized chromosomes to provide an image showing the labeling pattern for each labeled chromosome; and c) enumerating a labeled chromosome based on the labeling pattern of said labeled chromosome. A composition and kits for performing the method are also provided.

摘要: Methods and systems for selecting oligonucleotide probes for use in microarray applications are provided herein. The described methods use a combination of measured probe performance and predicted probe performance to select probes. Nucleic acid arrays containing probes selected by the described methods are described. Also included are algorithms for performing the subject methods recorded on computer-readable media and computational systems for analysis.

摘要: Methods and systems for identifying and selecting nucleic acid probes for detecting a target with a nucleic acid probe array or comparative genome hybridization microarray, comprising selecting a plurality of potential target sequences, generating a plurality of candidate probes from the target sequences, filtering the plurality of candidate probes by analyzing candidate probes for selected probe properties in silico. Microarrays comprising probes selected by the methods of the invention are particularly useful for comparative genome hybridization and location analysis.

摘要: The invention relates to a method and a system (200) for communicating wirelessly between devices. Wireless communication can be a very appropriate way of interconnecting nearby devices, such as devices located within a home. However, equipping all devices with a wireless transceiver may not be desirable. Furthermore, an ordinary user should be able to connect devices in a straightforward and convenient way. The invention addresses these issues by means of a wireless communication key (250, 260, 270). This is a key-like object equipped with a transceiver. A key can be attached to a device (220, 230, 240) for which a wireless connection is required. A key may have to be powered by the device to which it gets attached and can then establish a wireless connection (280, 282) with another device. The other device is determined by the key used. A key may be associated with a fixed endpoint device (210), permanently equipped with a transceiver (212). Alternatively, a key may be associated with a second key that is to be attached to the other device.

摘要: In a vehicle having a turbocharger (12) for supplying pressurized air to a combustion chamber in an engine (10) and a storage reservoir (34) for supplying pressurized air as a power source for a brake system (35), a polymeric fiber membrane (46) for separating pressurized air from a compressor (18) into moist oxygen enriched air and dry nitrogen enriched air. The moist oxygen enriched air is added to inlet air of the turbocharger (12) to enhance combustion of fuel in the combustion chamber while the dry nitrogen enriched air is communicated to the storage reservoir (34) to operate the brake system (35) and reduce the possibility of oxidization of components therein.
