    Abstract: An indoor air quality (IAQ) control system for a heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and Refrigeration (HVACR) system including an IAQ monitor that collects air quality data from an air quality sensor of an air quality-controlled space; a controller that manages a remediation device of the air quality-controlled space; and an IAQ management server that generates a biological pollutant estimate based on the air quality data using an algorithm that correlates the air quality data to the biological pollutant estimate, and generates a remediation recommendation. Additionally, a control method includes collecting air quality data from an air quality sensor of an air quality-controlled space using an IAQ monitor; managing a remediation device of the air quality-controlled space using a controller; generating a biological pollutant estimate based on the air quality data using an algorithm that correlates the air quality data to the biological pollutant estimate; and generating a remediation recommendation.

    Abstract: Methods and systems described perform air cleaning and/or sanitization in a heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and/or refrigeration (HVACR) system by detecting a concentration of airborne contaminants in a space serviced by the HVACR system. The detected concentration of airborne contaminants is determined whether it exceeds a threshold relative to a capacity of a first air cleaner. When the detected concentration of airborne contaminants exceeds the threshold, a second air cleaner is selected and enabled to be activated in the space. When the detected concentration of airborne contaminants does not exceed the threshold, the first air cleaner is selected and enabled to be activated in the space. The first air cleaner has a cleaning material different from the second air cleaner, and the first air cleaner, relative to the second air cleaner, treats the space at a lower concentration of airborne contaminants. The second air cleaner includes specifically designed cleaner modules.

    Abstract: A switchable filtration system for a heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration (HVACR) system is disclosed. The filtration system includes a first filter, a second filter, a switching apparatus, and a controller. The controller is configured to determine an air quality score. When the air quality score exceeds a predetermined threshold, the controller controls the switching apparatus to switch the first filter out of an active airflow path. When the air quality score is at or below the predetermined threshold, the controller controls the switching apparatus to switch the first filter into the active airflow path.

    Abstract: Systems and methods of holistically controlling a heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration (HVACR) system and a multi-contaminant air cleaner (MCAC) are disclosed. The method includes sensing, via at least one HVACR sensor, at least one comfort parameter; sensing, via at least one MCAC sensor, at least one air-quality parameter; determining, via a controller, minimum air changes of the HVACR system based on the at least one comfort parameter; and determining, via the controller, equivalent air changes of the MCAC and an indoor air quality (IAQ) score based on the at least one air-quality parameter. The method also includes controlling an operation of the HVACR system and controlling an operation of the MCAC based on the determined air changes to optimize an energy consumption.
