    Abstract: A tire including, in a tread surface (12), a plurality of shoulder main grooves extending in a tire circumferential direction, a plurality of lug grooves (351) extending in a direction intersecting the shoulder main groove, and a plurality of blocks B defined by the shoulder main grooves and the lug grooves (351). The tread surface (12) of the block B includes circumferential narrow grooves (352) each extending in the tire circumferential direction and a plurality of sipes that are provided on both sides of the circumferential narrow grooves in a tire width direction so as to be separated from the circumferential narrow grooves (352) and are disposed side by side in the tire circumferential direction and extend in the tire width direction. The circumferential narrow groove (352) includes a shallow bottom portion (3521) and a deep bottom portion (3522) having different depths from the tread surface (12). The deep bottom portion (3522) has a depth from the tread surface (12) deeper than a depth of the shallow bottom portion (3521) and is provided in a central portion of the block B in the tire circumferential direction.

    Abstract: A tire includes a tire frame member that is formed from a resin material and has a bead portion, side portions, and a crown portion, a belt layer serving as an example of a reinforcing layer that is disposed at the outer side in a tire radial direction of the tire frame member, and has a higher bending rigidity than outer circumferential portions of the tire frame member, a top tread serving as an example of a tread that is formed from a rubber material and is disposed at the outer side in the tire radial direction of the belt layer, and first width direction grooves serving as an example of width direction grooves that are provided at the top tread. An aperture surface area of one of the first width direction grooves within a total ground contact surface of the tread of one circumferential direction portion of the tire is 0.02% or less relative to a surface area of a total ground contact surface of the tread of one circumferential portion of the tire.

    Abstract: A tire comprises a tread portion 2 comprising at least a first main groove 3 and a second main groove 4 extending continuously in a tire circumferential direction. The first main groove 3 comprises a first oblique portion 11 inclined with respect to the tire circumferential direction and a second oblique portion 12 connected with the first oblique portion and inclined in an opposite direction to the first oblique portion 11. The second main groove 4 comprises a third oblique portion 13 inclined in a same direction as the first oblique portion 11 with respect to the tire circumferential direction, a fourth oblique portion 14 inclined in an opposite direction to the third oblique portion 13, and a longitudinal groove portion 15 disposed between the third and fourth oblique portions 13 and 14 so that they are not directly connected and extending along the tire circumferential direction.

    Abstract: Embodiments of the invention include methods for reducing deformation of a sipe-molding member (10) arising during manufacturing operations, and sipe-molding members (10) comprising a sipe-forming portion (12) and a plurality of stiffening members (20) spaced along the sipe-forming portion. The sipe-forming portion (12) has a length extending in a lengthwise direction of the sipe-molding member (10), a height configured to extend into a depth of a molding cavity, and a thickness extending perpendicular to both the length and height. The sipe-molding member (10) is configured to form a sipe having a thickness commensurate with the thickness of the sipe-forming portion, a length formed by at least a portion of the length of the sipe-forming portion, and a depth formed by at least a portion of the height of the sipe-forming portion. Each of the plurality of stiffening members (20) extend outwardly from the thickness of the sipe-forming element. Further embodiments include methods of forming a molded tire tread.

    Abstract: A pneumatic tire including a closed sipe in a land portion 3 formed in a tread surface, provided with at least three cuts extending in a radiation direction from an imaginary axis that extends in a depth direction of the land portion, and that terminate in the land portion. The cuts are provided with a spiral-like twist in the depth direction, centered on the imaginary axis, and a twist angle thereof is not less than 10° and not more than 135°. Additionally, a length in the radiation direction of the cuts or a width of the cuts is formed larger at a tread surface side than at a bottom surface side.
