    Abstract: Amino-derivative (poly)peroxycarboxylic acids which have the formula: ##STR1## wherein the symbols have the following meanings: R, R.sub.1, and R.sub.2, which may be equal to or different from one another, represent hydrogen atoms, alkyl groups or groups selected from R, R.sub.1 and R.sub.2, which taken together with the nitrogen atom to which they are linked, give rise to an aliphatic heterocyclic group, all of them being optionally substituted;A represents a (cyclo)alkylene group, an arylene group which may also be condensed with cycloaliphatic groups, a cycloalkylene-alkylene or an alkylene-cycloalkylene group, an arylene-alkylene or an alkylene-arylene group, which may be condensed with cyclo-aliphatic groups, wherein said alkylene group may also be interrupted by --CONR.sub.3 groups, wherein R.sub.3 represents a hydrogen atom or an alkyl or aryl group;X.sup.- represents HSO.sub.4.sup.- or CH.sub.3 SO.sub.3.sup.- ; a process for their preparation; and their use as bleaching agents.

    2 are hydrocarbon groups having from 1 to 15 carbon atoms, and X is electron attracting by being an optionally substituted phenyl group, an optionally substituted heterocycle in which the hetero atom is positioned so that from 2 to 4 carbon atoms are present between the hetero atom and each one of the carbonyl carbons of the diperacid, or by comprising at least one electron attracting functional group positioned so that a carbon chain having from 2 to 4 carbon atoms is present between said electron attracting group and each one of the carbonyl carbons of the diperacid, wherein the electron attracting group contains oxygen, sulfur, nitrogen, phosphorus, halogen, optionally substituted phenyl, or at least two conjugated double bonds, R

    Abstract: Diperphthalic acids are prepared from hydrogen peroxide and the phthalic acid in an alkanesulfonic acid reaction medium by using finely subdivided phthalic acid with a particle dimension below 0.1 millimeter, more notably in the range of from 0.001 to 0.1 millimeter. A unique crystal form of diperisophthalic acid is obtained, for example, by reaction of isophthalic acid of less than 0.044 millimeter (less than 325 mesh).

    Abstract: WHERE R, R1 and X are as heretofore defined and second contacting said peroxynitrate with a reducing agent to form said substituted nitroalkyl nitrate, the first and second contacting being conducted in the presence of inert liquid. The nitroalkyl final products of the invention are useful as fuel additives to increase power output of petroleum distillates such as gasoline and kerosene. Further, they are useful as intermediates in the preparation of surfactants, fuel and lubricant additives, insecticides, fungicides (e.g. controlling early blight in bean plants), pharmaceuticals and polymers.
