摘要: The present invention relates to an shock absorber based on the cutting, inward-folding and crushing of composite tube, comprising a destructing cap, a flat-pressing cap, a cutter and a positioning tube. The cutter is positioned in the destructing cap, and has a lower end connected to an inner flange of the destructing cap and an upper end connected to the positioning tube. The positioning tube is positioned in the destructing cap and closely connected to the inner wall of the destructing cap, and has a lower surface in contact with the cutter. The destructing cap, the positioning tube and the composite tube are respectively provided with aligned pin holes, and bound together with a pin. Energy is absorbed through destruction generated due to cutting and inward-folding of the composition tube. Energy can also be absorbed through destruction generated due to the inward-folding of the composite tube, without using the cutter. Compared to existing technology, the device may be used as a structural component in a normal working state. In the colliding and crushing state, the device fully destructs the composite. The present invention has the following advantages: the energy-absorption ratio is high; and the energy absorbing device only bears an axial force in the process that the composite is being destroyed, does not bend or rupture, keeps the structure stable, and avoids spattering of scraps.

摘要: An intermediate shaft to adjust the height of a steering wheel to match a driver's measurements, to absorb vibrations which may be generated by the wheels and suspension up to the steering wheel, and to act as a safety measure to collapse in the event of an accident. The shaft utilizes corresponding screw/nut mechanisms comprising a nut rigidly connected to the intermediate shaft on one of the flat surfaces of a female shaft and a screw which turns to tighten a male shaft via an adjustment strip to allow adjustment of the sliding load and the torsional rigidity and hysteresis of the sliding intermediate shaft.

摘要: An impact energy management system for absorbing or displacing kinetic energy during a collision. The system includes a housing defining a chamber and a contact element disposed at least partially within the chamber and longitudinally movable therein. At least a first load bearing pin is disposed between the energy adsorbing member and the housing. Prior to the collision, the contact element is disposed in an impact position, and upon the collision, the contact element moves within the chamber and the first pin deforms a segment of at least one of the housing or contact element, thereby reducing the force of the impact by transferring energy into the deformation.

摘要: A shock absorbing post assembly includes an outer tube, inner shaft, guide elements, and spring member. The outer tube has an exterior surface with circumferential portions along an outer cylinder encompassing the outer tube and outer races formed longitudinally between opposite ends of and spaced apart circumferentially about the outer tube. The outer races are within the outer cylinder between and inwardly of the circumferential portions of exterior surface. The inner shaft is received in and partially extends above the outer tube and has an exterior surface with circumferential portions along an inner cylinder encompassing the inner shaft and inner races formed longitudinally between opposite ends of and spaced apart circumferentially about the inner shaft in alignment with outer races of the outer tube so as to provide pairs of aligned outer and inner races. The inner races are within the inner cylinder between and inwardly of the circumferential portions of the exterior surface of the inner shaft. Guide elements are between and extend within pairs of aligned outer and inner races so as to permit reciprocatory sliding movement of the inner shaft relative to the outer tube and thereby allow the inner shaft to extend from and retract into the outer tube between extended and depressed positions. The spring member is disposed in the outer tube below the inner shaft so as to yieldably support the inner shaft at the extended position relative to the other tube while permitting the inner shaft to retract into the outer tube toward the depressed position in response to the post assembly receiving a shock impact thereon.

摘要: A steering system of automobiles for absorbing impact force, which comprises a steering tube, connected to a steering handle, having a plurality of fixing openings for fixing balls therein; a steering shaft partially inserted into the steering tube and having a plurality of multi-stepped guide grooves for guiding the balls; and the balls positioned in the fixing openings of the steering tube. The guide grooves are adjacent to the fixing openings at one end and extended longitudinally for a predetermined distance, and the balls travel from the fixing openings into the multi-stepped guide grooves between the steering tube and the steering shaft, generating frictional force and absorbing impact force. Hence, the impact force is absorbed by the multi-stepped portions of the guide grooves and gradually transmitted to the driver from the beginning to the end of a collision to ensure the driver with enough time to react to the collision, thereby minimizing injury to the driver.

摘要: A shock absorbing device for a subterranean tool features a plurality of sequentially shearing shear pins that shear after incremental relative motion of the affected components. The travel stop is located internally to a series of spaced collets supported off a ring. Impact of an impact ring segments on the travel stop segments located internally to each collet provides a shock absorbing capability as the collets are placed in tension and deflect by radial flexing in opposed directions. The relatively moving parts are rotationally locked with the last of the shear pins to shear. A backup pair of contacting shoulders are provided if the primary engaging shoulders fail to support the lower end of the tool after impact. A snap ring maintains the parts in the shifted position after impact.

摘要: A railcar collision energy absorbing device includes: an energy absorbing element crushed in collision; and a casing extending in a car longitudinal direction so as to accommodate the energy absorbing element. One end of the casing is supported by a main structure of a railcar. The casing is constituted by a plurality of tubular bodies whose overlapping portions are coupled to each other. The casing telescopically contracts in the collision by breaking of a coupling portion between the tubular bodies.

摘要: A crash attenuator for decelerating an impacting vehicle includes a first end that can be releasably secured to a vehicle, and a second end that is longitudinally spaced from the first end. The second end includes an impact member that is movable in the longitudinal direction from a pre-impact position to an impact position. At least a pair of deformable attenuator members are spaced laterally and extend longitudinally between the first and second ends. At least a portion of the attenuators are bent in a non-outboard direction when the impact member moves from the pre-impact position to the impact position.

摘要: A beam system of telescoping tubes is used for absorbing side impacts to a passenger vehicle. A central outer tube is attached to a vehicle seat structure and extends between, e.g., a side door and the tunnel in the passenger compartment floor. Inner tubes in each end of the outer tube are moved between retracted positions to extended positions respectively engaging said tunnel and said door during vehicle operation. Each inner tube has a tapered piston carrying rolling elements for wedging against the outer tube for energy absorption upon a side impact.
