摘要： A wood preservative composition comprising 4.5-dichloro-2-octylisothiazol-3 (2H)-one, a method of treating a wood substrate therewith, and a wood product produced therefrom are provided. The wood preservative composition comprises at least 10% by weight of 4.5-dichloro-2-octylisothiazol-3-one (DCOI) based on the total weight of the composition, at least 10% by weight of a non-polar organic solvent based on the total weight of the composition, and at least 1% by weight of a polar organic solvent based on the total weight of the composition. A weight ratio of the non-polar organic solvent to the polar organic solvent is in a range of 80:1 to 1:8.

wherein, Q1 and Q2 each independently represent O or S; R1 and R2 each independently represent alkyl. The present compounds have superior crop safety while maintaining comparable or even better herbicidal activity, thus they are more selective in crops. Moreover, the compounds of the present invention have better anti-volatility to avoid drift.
