Abstract: The present disclosure describes a method for the production of a spinning dope composition, said method comprising a homogenization involving mixing a cellulosic pulp material in alkali solution, mixing implying supplying a power density to agitators used in the homogenization of at least 150 kW/m3 (KW supplied to agitators per mixed unit of liquid volume), and thereafter a dissolution involving mixing of the cellulosic pulp material in the alkali solution to obtain a spinning dope composition, wherein the power density supplied to agitators used in the dissolution step is maximum 75 kW/m3 (KW supplied to agitators per mixed unit of liquid volume); and wherein the cellulosic pulp material in alkali solution is kept at a temperature of less than 0° C. during the homogenization and during at least part of the dissolution. The present disclosure is also directed to a system intended for the production of a spinning dope composition.

The present invention provides a cellulose fiber manufacturing method including the following steps: a solution preparation step for dissolving cellulose in a mixed solvent of an aprotic polar solvent and a quaternary onium salt; a discharge step for discharging the obtained solution in a fibrous form through a spinneret, the moisture content of the solution at the time of discharging falling within the range from 0.05 mass % to 8 mass %; and a solidification step for solidifying the discharged fibers in a water-based solidification bath containing water and the mixed solvent.

Abstract: A cellulose saccharification method including an introduction step of introducing water, a raw material containing cellulose, and a surfactant into a saccharification vessel so as to obtain a liquid mixture, an agitation step of agitating the liquid mixture due to rotation of an impeller portion, and a detection step of detecting a torque sensed by the impeller portion, wherein regarding the agitation step, after agitation is performed until an amount of the torque changed in a unit time period becomes less than or equal to a predetermined value, when the torque is more than or equal to a threshold value, the surfactant is additionally introduced into the liquid mixture, or when the torque is less than the threshold value, a pH adjuster and an enzyme are introduced into the liquid mixture.

Abstract: It is an object of the present invention to provide a thickener capable of exhibiting excellent light resistance. The present invention relates to a thickener comprising cellulose fibers having a fiber width of 8 nm or less and water, wherein the thickener is a slurry or a gel, and when the thickener is filled in a colorless and transparent glass cell having an inside dimension of 1 cm in depth×4 cm in width×4.5 cm in height and the thickener is then irradiated with ultraviolet rays with a wavelength of 300 nm or more and 400 nm or less, using a xenon lamp, from the side of the maximum area surface of the glass cell, so as to be an irradiance of 180 W/m2 and an integrated light amount of 500 mJ/m2, the amount of a change in the yellowness before and after ultraviolet irradiation measured in accordance with JIS K 7373 is 10 or less.

The purification method involves incubation of the vegetable material with an aqueous decomposition solution containing at least one dissolved amino acid and/or peptide with 2-50 amino acids to decompose the compacted cellulose-based fibres.
