    摘要: Provided herein are specifications for a cooling unit for the portable cooling of perishable goods comprising: a housing at least partially defining a compartment for holding a cooling medium; a heat exchanger; a fan positioned to generate an airflow through the heat exchanger; and an electronic control unit operable to control the fan. In some embodiments, the heat exchanger is a radiator, and the cooling unit further comprises: a cooling circuit coupled to the housing, the cooling circuit comprising an inlet in fluid communication with the compartment, a pump, an outlet in fluid communication with the compartment, the radiator and a fluid line connecting the inlet, the pump, the outlet, and the radiator; wherein the electronic control unit is further operable to control the pump and circulate cooling medium through the cooling circuit.

    摘要: A portable beverage carrier and dispenser. The carrier comprises an elongate tube have one end open and the opposite end generally enclosed. The tube includes perforations to permit water to move in and out of the tube, and a float that is placed into the tube prior to inserting beverage containers. The carrier is designed to be inserted into a hole in the ice surface on a body of water. A flange prevents the tube from falling into the hole into the underlying body of water. Anchors can be provided to anchor the carrier to the ice surface. When the carrier is placed in a hole in the ice surface, water enters the interior of the tube via the perforations. The float is placed in the tube and then beverage containers are loaded on top of the float. The buoyancy of the float in the water forces the beverage containers upwards in the tube so that the topmost container can be readily retrieved by a user.

    摘要: The present invention provides a submersible data center vessel that is towed to its operating site, moored to anchors on the ocean floor and connected to an appropriate power generating system. The vessel is then submerged to its recommended operating depth while preferably still allowing air exchange and service crew access to the vessel interior. In the event of extreme weather/sea conditions, the vessel can be submerged deeper for the duration of the extreme conditions and out of range of harmful wind and wave forces. The subsurface vessel is preferably powered by a renewable energy source such as, but not limited to marine hydrokinetic energy provided by wave, tidal, or marine current electric generators and/or offshore wind turbines. Alternatively, an onshore electric power grid supplies a portion or all of the electric power by submarine cable to the vessel. The computer servers housed within the vessel are cooled by heat exchangers drawing from cool ocean water, and continue to operate irrespective of weather and sea conditions on the surface.

    摘要: To alter rapidly the temperature of fluid 3 in a closed vessel 1, a nozzle 6 is disposed above the vessel 1, and an annular cross-section jet 17 of liquid at an appropriate temperature is directed at the vessel 1 so as to form a coherent film 18 covering its entire surface. Preferably the liquid, which may conveniently be water, is supplied at a high rate under a low pressure so as to preserve lamellar flow. Advantageously the annular cross-section jet 17 is conical, being directed downwardly and inwardly. The fluid 3 in the vessel 1 can be maintained at a desired temperature by continued application of the jet 17 of liquid.The invention is suitable for use with glass bottles and has application in food pasteurization.
