    摘要: In a driver circuit constructing a switching power supply device that switches power transistors passing a current through a coil by a PWM mode, a current detection transistor, which is smaller in size than the low-potential side power transistor and a current detection resistor are provided in parallel to the low-potential side power transistor. The same control voltage as the power transistor is applied to the control terminal of the current detection transistor. An operational amplifier is formed, that has the potential of the connection node between the current detection transistor and the current detection resistor applied to its inverse input terminal and a feedback loop, so as to make a pair of input terminals of the operational amplifier be at the same potential. A signal produced by the current detection resistor is thus outputted as a current detection signal.

    摘要: A current control circuit controls a current from a current drawing circuit to which a primary coil of a transformer is connected. A first N channel transistor has a source connected to the current drawing terminal and has a body diode that directs a current from the source to a drain. A second N channel transistor has a drain connected to the drain of the first N channel transistor and a source connected to a ground. The second N channel transistor has a body diode that directs a current from the source to the drain. The first and second N channel transistors are turned on to direct a current from the current drawing terminal to the ground via the first and second N channel transistors. The first and second N channel transistors are turned off to stop the current from the current drawing terminal. Further, the body diode of the first N channel transistor inhibits current flowing from the ground to the primary coil of the transformer.

    摘要: An ECU has a main IC and at least one auxiliary IC, with at least the auxiliary IC driving one or more MOS FETs to control supplying of power to respective electrical loads, e.g., in a vehicle. A stepped-up voltage, higher than the circuit power source voltage, is generated within the main IC and supplied to each auxiliary IC, for driving gate electrodes of the MOS FETs. Electrical noise produced by operation of a voltage step-up circuit in the main IC is effectively suppressed by elements that are coupled only to a power source terminal of the main IC alone.

    摘要: A control circuit for turning off or on direct current flowing through an inductive load (12) to ground uses a semiconductor switch (11), for example a MOSFET, having a first input terminal (D), a control terminal (G), and a second output terminal (S) to the load. A semiconductor freewheel diode (16) is coupled between the switch second terminal and ground, in parallel with the load. The freewheel diode has a current-conducting state and a current non-conducting state. A switching-off current source (19) is coupled between the second terminal and the control terminal; it reduces the magnitude of the switching control current (.+-.I.sub.GS) flowing into the control terminal of the MOSFET, as a function of voltage at the second terminal of the switch and the input to the freewheel diode. A minimum value (.+-.II.sub.GSmin) of the switching control current is reached when the voltage at the second terminal of the switch reaches ground potential. The current-increase or current-decrease time intervals are influenced by the current sources 18 and 19 in response to the freewheel voltage causing rapid switching without spikes and power loss.

    摘要: A piezoelectric transformer driver circuit can employ low voltage transistors. By alternately turning ON and OFF switching transistors b 3 and 4 depending upon gate signals GA and GB, a primary side of a piezoelectric transformer 7 is driven, and a secondary side is connected to a load 8. Inductors 1 and 2 are provided corresponding to transistors 3 and 4 for supplying a power source to corresponding transistors. Capacitors 10 and 11 respectively connected to one of the electrode of the inductors 1 and 2, respectively. The transistor 12 is turned ON upon completion of ON/OFF operation of the transistors 3 and 4, and the capacitors 10 and 11 are situated the other electrode at the ground voltage. Upon completion of ON/OFF operation of the transistor, a surge voltage to be generated by the inductors 1 and 2 can be restricted to permit use of the low voltage transistor. Thus, the overall circuit can be compact and low cost.

    摘要: A load transistor is integrated into a region of a semiconductor layer. The load transistor has an on-resistance which passes the load current. One or more drain pilot transistors are also integrated into the same region of the semiconductor layer such that the load transistor substantially surrounds the pilot transistor(s). Consequently, as the load transistor heats-up due to the load current, the heat from the load transistor conducts to the pilot transistor(s) and heats the pilot transistor(s) to substantially the same temperature as the load transistor. If more than one drain pilot transistor are provided, then they are located adjacent to each other to ensure that all the pilot transistors exhibit substantially the same temperature as each other. The pilot transistor(s) are scaled models of the load transistor such that an on-resistance of each of the pilot transistors varies proportionally to the on-resistance of the load transistor with temperature. Current sources supply fixed currents to the on-resistances of the respective pilot transistors. Consequently, voltage(s) developed across the pilot transistor(s) are accurate references with which to set a drive voltage for the load current or an overcurrent or undercurrent detector, which reference voltages are temperature compensated.
