    Abstract: A medical telepresence system comprising: an interface to receive a plurality of data feeds from a live medical procedure, at least one data feed comprising a video signal capturing the live medical procedure; a hierarchical encoder to encode the plurality of data feeds using a first tier-based hierarchical data coding scheme, wherein encoded data from the hierarchical encoder is decodable by a first set of computing devices for viewing, the first set of computing devices being communicatively coupled to the hierarchical encoder using a first network connection; a transcoder to convert from the first tier-based hierarchical data coding scheme to a second tier-based hierarchical data coding scheme, wherein encoded data from the transcoder is receivable by a second set of computing devices for viewing, the second set of computing devices being communicatively coupled to the transcoder using a second network connection, the second network connection being of a lower quality than the first network connection; and a recorder to store the output of the hierarchical encoder as a set of tier-based files for later retrieval, wherein each of the set of tier-based files represent different levels of quality.

    Abstract: Systems, devices and processes for facilitating a Karaoke content watch party (KWP) may include a sync server and a Karaoke presenter user device (KPUD) communicatively coupled thereto. The KPUD executes computer instructions for operations that instruct a content capture device (CCD) to capture and receive a Karaoke Reaction (KR) by a KPUD user and communicate the KR to the sync server. A Karaoke user device (KUD) may be communicatively coupled to the sync server. A content provider provides Karaoke Content (KC) to the KPUD and the KUD. The KC includes a KC segment. The sync server receives the KR from the KPUD, generates Karaoke secondary content (KSC) which includes the KR, communicates the KSC to the KUD, and may also generate Karaoke synchronization information (KSI) and communicate the KSI to the KUD. The KSI facilitates synchronized presentation, by the KUD, of the KR with the KC segment.

    Abstract: Various methods, systems, and electronic devices include delivery of sequential subtitle images to a client device. To that end, a method includes obtaining a plurality of sequential subtitle images including a first sequential subtitle image and a second sequential subtitle image. The method includes generating a diff image by comparing the first sequential subtitle image against the second sequential subtitle image. The diff image includes content that is absent from the first sequential subtitle image and present in the second sequential subtitle image. The method includes sending, to the client device, the diff image and display metadata associated with the diff image. The metadata may include a temporal indicator that indicates a display time or display duration of the diff image, and may include a position indicator that indicates a display position of the diff image.

    Abstract: A system for providing default content enhanced with supplemental content includes processing hardware and a memory storing a software code. The processing hardware executes the software code to receive a content stream including multiple video frames, a first video frame of the multiple video frames including first default content, first supplemental content, and first encoded metadata, and to decode the first encoded metadata of the first video frame to produce first decoded metadata. The processing hardware further executes the software code to select, using the first decoded metadata, at least a first portion of the first supplemental content for use in enhancing the first default content, transfer, using the first decoded metadata, the selected first portion of the first supplemental content to one or more predetermined locations in the first default content to produce an enhanced first video content, and output the enhanced first video content to a display device.

    Abstract: Example methods, apparatus, systems and articles of manufacture to implement an addressable measurement framework are disclosed. Example apparatus disclosed herein perform a common homes analysis of provider data and panel data to determine a coverage footprint associated with the provider data, the provider data including at least one of return path data reported by a plurality of set-top boxes or automatic content recognition data reported by a plurality of smart media devices, and the panel data reported by media device meters. Disclosed example apparatus also weight a portion of the provider data based on the common homes analysis, weight a portion of the panel data based on the common homes analysis, and calculate an addressable advertisement rating based on the weighted portion of the provider data and the weighted portion of the panel data.
