摘要: A motor-fan assembly includes a working fan assembly having at least one working fan and a blower housing coupled to the working fan assembly. The blower housing provides a blower housing chamber and a cooling air inlet that draws cooling air into the blower housing chamber. A motor assembly is carried by the blower housing and rotates a shaft connected to the at least one working fan. The motor-fan assembly also includes a cooling fan assembly with at least one cooling fan connected to an end of the shaft opposite the at least one working fan. A motor vent cover encloses the cooling fan assembly and includes a cooling air outlet. Rotation of the at least one cooling fan draws cooling air in through the cooling air inlet, through the motor assembly, and exhausts cooling airflow through the cooling air outlet.

摘要: A system and method for measuring flow resistance of a fluid in a conduit is provided. The system generally includes a reservoir for containing the fluid, a pump connected to the reservoir for distributing the fluid through a conduit having a straight measurement section, one or more pressure sensors connected to the conduit for measuring the pressure of the fluid in the conduit at one end of the straight measurement section and an opposite end of the straight measurement section.

摘要: A heat exchanger includes a housing which maintains a first section that has a first inlet and a first outlet, and a second section that has a second inlet and a second outlet. At least one conductive plate extends between the first section and the second section, wherein the conductive plate transfers heat from a fluid flowing in one of the sections to another fluid flowing in the other of the sections. The sections may be positioned side-by-side such that the fluids' flow is coplanar, or co-curvilinear, and non-intersecting.

摘要: A labyrinth seal for a bypass discharge-type motor-fan unit includes a motor unit from which extends a rotating shaft that passes through an aperture in an end plate to drive a fan unit. Disposed within the aperture is a labyrinth seal configured to prevent liquid entrained in a working airflow from entering the motor unit. The rotating shaft also includes a vacuum bore, such that the negative pressure generated by the operation of the fan unit draws any liquid out of an evacuation zone maintained between the motor unit and the end plate. As such, the components of the motor unit are protected from being exposed to the liquid, thereby extending the operating life motor-fan unit.

摘要: A time interval measurement apparatus and method counts the total number of full clock time periods between two measurement signals. Clock fractional time periods are generated between each of the two measurement signals and the next leading edge of a full clock time period. The total number of full clock time periods and the clock fractional time periods are converted to a time equivalent measurement and combined to generate the total time interval between the two measurement signals.

摘要: A method of converting nitrogen dioxide to nitric oxide that includes passing a stream of gas containing nitrogen dioxide over a material that includes yttrium-stabilized zirconia. The method may be performed in a device for measuring NOx that includes a housing having a gas inlet and a gas outlet; a material that includes yttrium-stabilized zirconia positioned inside of the housing; a means for heating the surface of the material that includes yttrium-stabilized zirconia; and a means for measuring the amount of nitric oxide in a stream of gas that has passed over the material comprising yttrium-stabilized zirconia. The device may be used to measure the amount of NOx in a stream of gas by passing a stream of gas containing nitric oxide through the above-described inventive device.
