Abstract:
Method for providing sound to at least one user, involves supplying audio signals from an audio signal source to a transmission unit; compressing the audio signals to generate compressed audio data; transmitting compressed audio data from the transmission unit to at least one receiver unit; decompressing the compressed audio data to generate decompressed audio signals; and stimulating the hearing of the user(s) according to decompressed audio signals supplied from the receiver unit. During certain time periods, transmission of compressed audio data is interrupted, and instead, at least one control data block is generated by the transmission unit in such a manner that audio data transmission is replaced by control data block transmission, thereby temporarily interrupting flow of received compressed audio data, each control data block includes a marker recognized by the at least one receiver unit as a control data block and a command for control of the receiver unit.

Abstract:
A method for fitting a hearing device to the needs and preferences of a user of the hearing device is disclosed. In a first step of the disclosed method a first range for a parameter setting of a first parameter is determined based on a first audiological test performed with the user. In a second step of the disclosed method, the first parameter is adjusted to a first final parameter setting within the first range and/or a second parameter of the hearing device is adjusted to a second final parameter setting based on a second audiological test performed with the user. The second parameter is functionally related to the first parameter such that the first parameter is expressible as a function of the second parameter, and the adjusting is performed such second step it is ensured that the first parameter setting remains within the first range Additionally, corresponding fitting apparatuses and computer-readable media are disclosed.
Abstract:
The present invention proposes a method for operating a hearing device which prevents battery leakage, especially in the case when the hearing device 1 is powered by a mercury-free battery 2. The method comprises monitoring a supply voltage of at least one of a plurality of electronic units 7, 8, 9 of the hearing device 1, initiating a low battery leakage shutdown state when a low supply voltage condition is identified based on the monitoring, wherein the initiating a low battery leakage shutdown state includes activating at least one power gate 10 to disconnect at least one of the plurality of electronic units 7, 8, 9 from the power supply when entering the low battery leakage shutdown state, and discharging a buffer capacitor 4 provided for stabilising the battery voltage. Moreover, a hearing device 1 optimised for being powered by a mercury-free battery 2 is provided.

Abstract:
A method for operating a hearing device for being worn at least partially within an ear canal of a user, including an ear canal microphone, a filtering unit and an electrical-to-acoustical converter, capable of active occlusion control (AOC) and allowing the user to adjust the AOC functionality according to his or her preferences. The method includes picking up an ear canal internal sound at the microphone which provides a signal representative of the internal sound, filtering the signal with the filtering unit to reduce a perceived level of body sounds produced by the user, providing the filtered signal to the converter which outputs sound into the ear canal, and changing at least one setting or parameter of the filtering unit in dependence of a control signal, wherein the control signal is initiated by the user. Moreover, a hearing device adapted to perform the method is provided.
