摘要: In an active noise reducing headphone, a signal processor applies filters and control gains of both the feed-forward and feedback active noise cancellation signal paths. The signal processor is configured to apply first feed-forward filters to the feed-forward signal path and apply first feedback filters to the feedback signal path during a first operating mode providing effective cancellation of ambient sound, and to apply second feed-forward filters to the feed-forward signal path during a second operating mode providing active hear-through of ambient sounds with ambient naturalness.

摘要: A method for operating a hearing device for being worn at least partially within an ear canal of a user, including an ear canal microphone, a filtering unit and an electrical-to-acoustical converter, capable of active occlusion control (AOC) and allowing the user to adjust the AOC functionality according to his or her preferences. The method includes picking up an ear canal internal sound at the microphone which provides a signal representative of the internal sound, filtering the signal with the filtering unit to reduce a perceived level of body sounds produced by the user, providing the filtered signal to the converter which outputs sound into the ear canal, and changing at least one setting or parameter of the filtering unit in dependence of a control signal, wherein the control signal is initiated by the user. Moreover, a hearing device adapted to perform the method is provided.

摘要: Systems and methods for audio monitoring and adaptation are provided. An example method includes monitoring an acoustic signal, representing at least one captured sound, inside at least one ear canal. The captured sound includes an audio for play back inside the ear canal. The acoustic signal can be analyzed to determine perceptual parameters including level of the acoustic signal, duration of the acoustic signal, inter-aural time difference (ITD), inter-aural level difference (ILD), seal quality, and environmental noise estimate. Based on the perceptual parameters, the played back audio is adapted to improve quality thereof. The adaptation includes regulating the volume of the acoustic signal, performing noise-dependent gain control on the acoustic signal, performing inter-aural temporal alignment and spectral equalization, and equalizing an acoustic response inside the ear canal.

摘要: The headset includes an active noise control with an internal microphone (28) and an external microphone (32). A processor (42) comprises a feedback branch (46), adjusted so as to attenuate the low frequencies corresponding to a component of a voice signal transmitted by bone conduction, and a feedforward branch (58) adjusted so as to compensate for the attenuation introduced by the feedback filtering and the passive acoustic attenuation introduced between the outside and the inside of the headset. A voice activity detector (60) operates a dynamic switching between two couples (HFB, HFF) of different transfer functions applied to the feedback (46) and feedforward (58) functions. This allows rendering in the most natural way possible to the user all the external sounds, including his own voice.

The plurality of devices includes a battery-operated hearing aid configured to communicate with another device using Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) wireless communication technology. A BLE tester is configured to test the hearing aid for the performance of BLE wireless communication via a wireless link. One embodiment uses a wireless test mode as a diagnostic tool for analyzing the wireless communication environment, such as when the communication with the hearing aid is interfered in a noisy environment.

摘要: The signal processing functions of a hearing aid as described above necessarily cause some delay between the time the audio signal is received by the microphone or wireless receiver and the time that the audio is actually produced by the output transducer. In some situations, signal processing incorporating longer delays may be better able to improve signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) or other functional parameters for a hearing aid wearer, but a balance should be struck between these positive effects of delay and other negative effects. The techniques described herein address the problem of to balancing the positive and negative effects of delay.

摘要: A hearing assistive device and method of using the same comprising receiving a first audio signal from an ambient microphone, receiving a second audio signal from a directional microphone, mixing the first and second audio signals according to a preference of the first user, and projecting the mixed first and second audio signals into an ear of the first user. The method can further comprise dampening ambient sound arriving directly at the ear by 5-30 decibels, by disposing an occlusive earpiece within the ear to reduce the ambient sound, and projecting the mixed first and second audio signals from a speaker into the ear of the first user to indirectly provide a desired volume of ambient sound to the ear of the first user. The method can further include establishing a group through at least one wireless handheld communication device to facilitate transmission among multiple hearing assistive devices.
