摘要: An improved non-stop, constant velocity laser printer is provided which operates in parallel to both begin printing a particular page of print media while virtually simultaneously receiving further data for that same page from a host computer. Since the communications link between the host computer and the printer is slower than the rate of consumption by the printhead provided with this printer, a certain amount of data for each page is first buffered in the printer before the print media begins to move via the printer's print engine. Since it is important for the printer to receive all of the required data for the entire page before the printhead requires that data for consumption, the printer must decide how much data of that particular page should be buffered within the printer before commanding the print engine to start moving the print media. The printer is capable of making this "data size" to be buffered decision without any assistance from the host computer that is sending the print job to the printer-all the host need send is the standard page header information that all host computers send when transmitting a rasterized print job to a printer. The printer bases its "data size" decision by estimating the amount of data by using the print resolution, an estimate of the compression ratio, and other information from the page header that provides a rough estimate as to how much of the area of the page of the print media is to be covered, and by estimating the communication link speed, and the amount of time that is available to perform the data transfer. Since print data is received in packets, as each packet is received, stored, and acknowledged by the printer before another packet is sent by the host, the amount of time for all of this to occur for each packet is analyzed to calculate an estimate of the approximate data transfer rate of the communications link, which is refined after receiving each new packet, but is recalculated for each new page.

摘要: Printer (1) has the capability of printing in either 600 by 600 dpi resolution or 300 by 300 dpi under control of data processor controller (17). Bit maps for printing are stored in memory (19). When complex pages require more memory than is available, information from groups of bits in the 600 by 600 bit map is used to define the significance of one bit in a 300 by 300 bit map and the page is printed in the 300 by 300 bit map. This avoids terminating printing or printing partial pages and the difference in images are minor.

摘要: A retainer for holding a cover onto a garbage can includes readily disconnectable holding means suitable for holding onto a garbage can handle, a spring joined to the holding means, a chain joined to the spring and holding means for passing through the other garbage can handle, after the retainer has been passed through the cover handle, and for holding onto the chain at a desired position so as to adjust the length of the retainer and the force by which it holds the cover to the garbage can. The spring means, in its normally most extended use position, is positioned below the top of the garbage can cover so that it remains unbent in use.

摘要: Apparatus and methods are disclosed for selection of characters from an electronic user interface. In one embodiment, a letter selection interface displays letters in a row, some of which are recordable by an input interpreter and others that are unrecordable. In one embodiment, unrecordable letters visually separate letters that are both (1) recordable, and (2) assigned to different but adjacent selection buttons. In response to received touch-screen activations, an interpreter records recordable letter selections and a display displays both recordable and unrecordable letter selections. The interpreter composes a sequence of the recorded letters. An algorithm identifies alternatives to the recorded sequence by editing one or more letters of the sequence, such that each edit changes a selected letter to an adjacent unrecordable letter. The algorithm outputs words that match the originally composed sequence or one of the identified alternatives.

摘要: Systems, devices and methods are disclosed for error correction in text input systems that use time-dependent button presses. A frequent error type in time-based text input is errors due to inaccurately timed button presses. The result of mistimed button presses is errant button press types within a button press type sequence. An error correction algorithm identifies possible alternative button press type sequences based on the number of button presses in the sequence. The algorithm converts the alternative button press type sequences to alternative character sequences using the received button press value sequence. The algorithm compares the alternative character sequences and the presumed word with a library of known words to determine the word most likely intended by a user.

摘要: Systems, devices and methods are disclosed that improve error correction in time-dependent character input systems. Error correction algorithms correct inaccurately entered words by identifying alternative button press type combinations that conform to the number of button presses in a button press type sequence. The number of possible alternative combinations compounds as the number of button presses in a sequence increases. The disclosed improvement reduces the number of possible alternative button press type sequences by acquiring a row ID value with each received button press. The algorithm divides the button press type sequence into segments at each position of the button press type sequence where a row ID value changes. The algorithm identifies alternative button press type sequences separately for each segment, converts possible alternative button press type segments to character sequence segments, and considers the possible combinations of reconnected character sequence segments as possible word alternatives.

摘要: A method for performing video analytics comprises capturing video data using a video source disposed at an acquisition end. The captured video data is stored at the acquisition end, and non-adjacent single frames of the captured video data are transmitted from the acquisition end to a server via an IP network. The non-adjacent single frames of captured video data are transmitted one at a time at known time intervals, or a burst of a plurality of non-adjacent single frames is transmitted at another known time interval. At the server, video analytics is performed on a current one of the non-adjacent single frames for detecting an actionable event relative to a previous one of the non-adjacent single frames. In response to detecting an actionable event, a signal for requesting previously stored video data captured between the current one of the non-adjacent single frames and the previous one of the non-adjacent single frames is transmitted to the acquisition end via the IP network.

摘要: Systems, devices and methods are disclosed for input of characters and text with optional time-based button taps. The duration of the activation of a selection button specifies the selected character. In one embodiment, the system enables selection of either of two characters using one selection button based on how long the button was pressed by the user. Each character in an array of a plurality of characters is part of a pair of characters in the array. The system enables selection of any character of the array of characters based on a first character within each pair having an assigned value being a defined amount different than an assigned value of a second character in the pair. Based on received input indicative of the selection button having been activated for a particular duration compared to a threshold duration, the system selects between the assigned value of the first character and the assigned value of the second character within each pair.
