Abstract: User equipment (UE) positioning within a 5G New Radio (NR) network may be determined by receiving a downlink (DL) position reference signal (PRS) resource set indicating a plurality of DL PRS resources and receiving a DL PRS report configuration that indicates a set of measurements to be performed by a UE for each of the plurality of DL PRS resources within the DL PRS resource set. Position measurements may be performed for each of the plurality of DL PRS resources within the DL PRS resource set, including generating a reference signal time difference (RSTD) measurement by estimating a timing of a first arrival path from at least two of the plurality of DL PRS resources and determining a reference signal received power (RSRP) metric or a signal to noise and interference ratio (SINR) metric associated with the at least two DL PRS resources. The performed position measurements may be reported.

Abstract: A technology is disclosed for an evolved Node B (eNB) operable to transmit a physical downlink control channel (PDCCH) to a user equipment (UE). The eNB can determine a set of configuration indication fields numbered 1 to N, included in a downlink control information (DCI) format Y carried on the PDCCH, where N = ⌊ L format Y M ⌋ , Lformat Y is equal to a payload size of the DCI format Y, and M is a number of bits of each configuration indication field. The eNB can map the DCI format Y onto the PDCCH. The eNB can transmit to the UE the PDCCH with a cyclic redundancy check (CRC) scrambled by an enhanced interference mitigation and traffic adaptation (eIMTA) Radio-Network Temporary Identifier (RNTI) for the UE.

Abstract: Technology for a user equipment (UE) operable to perform adaptive time division duplexing (TDD) hybrid automatic repeat request (HARQ)-ACKnowledgement (ACK) reporting is described. The UE can implement an adaptive uplink-downlink (UL-DL) configuration received from an eNodeB. The UE can decode a downlink (DL) HARQ reference configuration received from the base station for a serving cell, wherein the DL HARQ reference configuration is for the implemented adaptive UL-DL configuration. The UE can decode a reference UL-DL configuration received from the base station via a system information block (SIB). The UE can encode HARQ-ACK feedback for transmission on an uplink channel of the serving cell in accordance with the DL HARQ reference configuration. The UE can perform uplink scheduling and the HARQ-ACK feedback based on the reference UL-DL configuration received from the base station via the SIB.

Abstract: Embodiments of a User Equipment (UE) and methods for communication are generally described herein. The UE may be configured for carrier aggregation using a primary component carrier (CC) and a secondary CC. The UE may attempt to detect a sidelink synchronization signal (SLSS) from another UE on the primary CC. The UE may, if the SLSS from the other UE is detected: determine, based on the detected SLSS, a common time synchronization for the primary CC and the secondary CC for vehicle-to-vehicle (V2V) sidelink transmissions in accordance with the carrier aggregation. The UE may, if the SLSS from the other UE is not detected: transmit an SLSS to enable determination of the common time synchronization for the primary CC and the secondary CC by the other UE. The SLSS may be transmitted on the primary CC.

Abstract: A wireless communication device is configured to perform resource access in device-to-device (D2D) communication. A user equipment (UE) is provided with processing hardware comprising application processing circuitry and baseband processing circuitry. The application processing circuitry assigns a per-packet priority to data packets in the application layer. The baseband processing circuitry maps the per-packet priority to a transmission priority in the physical layer and prioritizes access to a wireless resource pool depending upon the transmission priority. A UE having the application processing circuitry and baseband processing circuitry is also provided. A computer program product is also provided. An evolved Node B (eNodeB) allocates a resource quota to a UE based upon priority information from the UE corresponding to a D2D communication to be transmitted by the UE. Other embodiments may be described and claimed.

Abstract: Embodiments of a User Equipment (UE) and methods of communication are generally described herein. The UE may select one or more of the component carriers (CCs) of a carrier aggregation, and may transmit a sidelink synchronization signal (SLSS) and a physical sidelink broadcast channel (PSBCH) on the one or more selected CCs. The UE may encode the PSBCH to include a plurality of parameters related to the sidelink operation, wherein the plurality of parameters are to be propagated across all of the CCs of the plurality of CCs for the sidelink operation. The UE may transmit one or more physical sidelink shared channels (PSSCHs) in accordance with the carrier aggregation, and further in accordance with the plurality of parameters propagated across the plurality of CCs.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and storage media for reporting geo-information in wireless communications networks are described. In embodiments, a roadside unit (RSU) may instruct or configure a user equipment (UE) to report its geo-information to other UEs and/or receive other geo-information from the other UEs over vehicle-to-vehicle (V2V) sidelinks. In embodiments, the RSU or a core network element may allocate radio resources for V2V communications to geographic areas and/or based on reported geo-information. In embodiments, the UE may use its geo-information and/or the obtained geo-information to select resources from the allocation for transmission or receipt of V2V messages. Abstract: Technology for a UE configured to perform RSTD measurements for OTDOA positioning is disclosed. The UE can decode a MBSFN subframe configuration information for one or more cells in a plurality of cells. The UE can decode PRS configuration information for one or more cells in the plurality of cells. The UE can determine, for the one or more cells in the plurality of cells, an existence of a CRS for selected subframes of a plurality of subframes based on the MBSFN subframe configuration information. The UE can determine for the one or more cells in the plurality of cells, an existence of a PRS for selected subframes of the plurality of subframes based on the PRS configuration information. The UE can measure the RSTD for the one or more cells in the plurality of cells using the CRS and the PRS.

Abstract: Technology for an eNodeB operable to resolve predefined types of concurrent communications at a relay user equipment (UE) is disclosed. The eNodeB can identify the relay UE that is configured to relay proximity services (ProSe) traffic between the eNodeB and a remote UE. The relay UE can be in-coverage of the eNodeB and the remote UE can be in-coverage or out-of-coverage of the eNodeB. The eNodeB can communicate control signaling to at least one of the relay UE and the remote UE to resolve predefined types of communications performed at the relay UE or the remote UE to defined subframes. The control signaling can provide concurrency avoidance at the relay UE for predefined types of concurrent communications between the relay UE and at least one of the eNodeB and the remote UE.
