    摘要: A shared-nothing database management system employs a method of adding and removing a database server without significantly affecting the processing performance for accessing a table from a user or an application. A scheduler module creates a schedule which separately handles the addition of a CPU resource and the addition of a storage I/O resource, and a server is added in accordance with the created schedule. A common disk is used to remove a disk at an arbitrary timing. Further, a data region is previously subdivided on the common disk to eliminate a movement of data associated with the addition of a server.

The display device includes a display area; a vertical drive circuit; a first horizontal drive circuit converting input first and second digital image data to analog image signals, and supplying the same to a data line selected by the vertical drive circuit; and a second horizontal drive circuit converting input third digital image data to an analog image signal, and supplying the same to a data line selected by the vertical drive circuit. The first horizontal drive circuit includes a sampling latch circuit, a second latch circuit, a digital/analog conversion circuit, and a line selector for selecting the first and second digital image data in a time division manner in a predetermined period and outputting the same to the data line.

    摘要: A database management system has a plurality of database servers and data can be transferred between them by partitioning a data area into small areas and altering allocation of the small areas to the database servers. After altering the configuration, there occurs degradation in processing speed that accompanies re-creation of the index. If this problem is solved by using conventional techniques, noticeable degradation in processing speed will occur to a specific query at the time of a steady state operation. Accordingly, an index created for each of the small areas and an index to all of the small areas are allocated to the database server and used in combination.

    摘要: A hydrodynamic bearing type rotary device is configured to prevent air from being trapped inside a bearing and causing the bearing to have oil film rupture and NPPR to deteriorate. In the device, a flange having a shape substantially like a disc is provided integrally with a shaft near its lower portion. A sleeve having a bearing hole is fitted to the shaft so as to be relatively rotatable. Hydrodynamic grooves are provided on at least one of an outer periphery of the shaft and an inner periphery of the sleeve. The flange forms a thrust bearing surface with a lower end surface of the sleeve. Hydrodynamic grooves are provided on at least one of the lower surface of the sleeve and an upper surface of the flange. During rotation of the bearing, the hydrodynamic grooves circulate the lubricant. Capillary pressures at respective portions in the lubricant circulation path have different magnitudes. The principle that air tends to move toward the portion having a smaller capillary pressure is utilized to make it difficult for the air to be trapped inside the bearing and to smoothly discharge the air.

A step portion is provided on the other end face of the sleeve such that the step portion and the reservoir are communicated with each other by a communication hole. During operation of the hydrodynamic bearing device, air in the hydrodynamic bearing device reaches the reservoir via the communication hole so as to be discharged from the reservoir.
