A mechanism for mounting a motor driving a drum to a tub of a washing machine, and a washing machine using the same are disclosed. The mechanism includes a motor located on the outer surface of a tub; at least one fixing member passing through a part of the motor and then fixed to the tub for fixing the motor to the tub; and at least one isolator provided between the motor and the fixing member for preventing the fixing member from directly contacting the motor to prevent the vibration of the motor from being transmitted to the tub through the fixing member.

The present invention relates to an apparatus and a method for realizing all-optical NOR logic device using the gain saturation characteristics of a semiconductor optical amplifier (SOA). More particularly, the invention relates to a 10 Gbit/s all-optical NOR logic device among all-optical logic devices, in which a signal transmitted from a given point of an optical circuit such as an optical computing circuit is used as a pump signal and a probe signal. The method for realizing an all-optical NOR logic device using the gain saturation characteristics of the SOA according to the present invention comprises the steps of: utilizing A+B signal which couples together an input signal pattern A (1100) and an input signal pattern B (0110) as a pump signal (1110); utilizing a probe signal (1111) by generating a clock signal out of said input signal pattern A (1100); and obtaining a Boolean equation {overscore (A+B)} by making said probe signal and said pump signal incident upon the SOA simultaneously from the opposite direction. The all-optical logic device according to the present invention has a simple construction since it is realized through the XGM (Cross Gain Modulation) method which utilizes the gain saturation characteristics. Also, it is expected that the method employed in the present invention could be used for realizing other all-optical logic circuits and devices. The semiconductor device includes a semiconductor substrate; a chemical oxide buffer layer on the semiconductor substrate; a high-k gate oxide layer on the buffer layer; a gate electrode formed on the high-k gate oxide layer; and lightly doped drain and source/drain regions formed in a surface of the semiconductor substrate beside the gate electrode. By forming the buffer layer of chemical oxide on the semiconductor substrate and by forming the gate oxide layer on the buffer layer, a stable high-k material can be provided at the interface between the high-k gate oxide layer and the semiconductor substrate.

The damper includes a damper cylinder; a shaft inserted into the damper cylinder through one end of the damper cylinder, and reciprocating in the lengthwise direction of the damper cylinder; and a friction member provided on the shaft for damping vibration generated by friction with the inner wall of the damper cylinder, and moving vertically to the lengthwise direction of the damper cylinder. The damper adjusts damping force thereof according to vibrated states of an object to be vibrated, and has an improved vibration-damping effect.
