摘要: Disclosed is a novel use of superheated stream-treated material. Disclosed is an immune balance-regulating agent comprising a superheated steam-treated product of crown daisy (Chrysanthemum coronarium). This immune balance-regulating agent, which comprises, as the active ingredient, a superheated stream-treated product of crown daisy that has been used as a food for a long time, is a composition having a very high safety and exerting an effect of controlling and normalizing the immune balance of a living organism. The present invention has been completed based on the finding that the superheated steam-treated product of crown daisy has anti-infective and antitumor activities based on type-1 immune stimulating effect and, moreover, shows an effect of ameliorating allergic diseases, which are caused by excessive type 2 immune responses, by controlling immune balance.

摘要: The object aims to provide: a novel tumor antigen; a novel therapeutic agent useful in a method for treating a malignant neoplasm by utilizing the tumor antigen; and a tumor antigen which can be used as the therapeutic agent. Thus, disclosed are: a novel tumor antigen which has an epitope capable of inducing a Th1 cell which is a CD4-positive T cell specific to Survivin; and use of the tumor antigen. Specifically disclosed is a polypeptide which comprises an amino acid sequence depicted in SEQ ID NO:17 or the like and has an activity to cause the production of a cytokine by a Th cell that is a cell specific to Survivin. The peptide can induce a Th cell that is specific to Survivin and can cause the production of a cytokine by the Sur/Th cell when the peptide is incubated together with an antigen-presenting cell and a CD4-positive T cell.

摘要: A laser marking device (1) includes a laser light source (24) that emits a laser beam, and a beam splitter (230) receiving the laser beam and allowing a part of the laser beam to be reflected thereat and a remaining part of the laser beam to be transmitted therethorogh. The beam splitter (230) has an unpolarized film (233a, 233b) into which the laser beam is entered to divide the laser beam into a plurality of laser beams that travels in different directions, at a predetermined rate regardless of change of a polarized characteristic of the laser beam.

摘要: In optical two-way communication using a single optical fiber, part of the light transmitted from an apparatus is received as stray light by the apparatus itself. This occasionally hampers accurate detection of disconnection from the partner apparatus and of the start of data communication by the partner apparatus after the establishment of connection. To overcome this, the timing with which an apparatus transmits a tone signal after the establishment of connection is compared with the timing with which the apparatus receives a tone signal from the partner apparatus, and the two apparatuses use different sets of data transmission properties (for example, different wavelengths) to accurately detect disconnection. Moreover, based on the properties of the received light and the characteristics of the receiving amplifier, repetition of the same code for longer than a predetermined period is detected to accurately detect disconnection. Furthermore, in response to a request for data communication after the establishment of connection, a tone signal having a different pattern from that used to establish connection is used to accurately detect the start of data communication.
