摘要: A device for removing a crosstalk component mingled from an adjacent track to a target track from a reproduction signal of the target track is provided for automatically adjusting a coefficient on which the amplitude of the reproduction signal of the adjacent track is adjusted for generating a crosstalk component signal. A crosstalk component signal generating unit 20 operates to generate a crosstalk component signal 20E or 20F by adjusting an amplitude of a signal 21a or 22a having a suppressed high frequency component of each reproduction signal ERF or FRF of the adjacent track with respect to the coefficient KE or KF. A subtracting unit 30 operates to output subtract the crosstalk component signal 20E or 20F from a main reproduction signal MRF for outputing a crosstalk-removed signal 8a. A correlation operating unit 42 or 52 included in the coefficient setting unit 40 or 50 operates to derive a correlation between the crosstalk-removed signal 8a and the signal 21a or 22a having the suppressed high frequency component. A coefficient increasing or decreasing unit 43 or 53 operates to increase the coefficient KE or KF if the correlation is positive or decrease the coefficient KE or KF if the correlation is negative.

摘要: The invention provides information recording apparatus, information reproducing apparatus, and information recording medium, capable of correcting an error due to the change in RF signal level caused by noise or the like without a significant reduction in the storage capacity. An edge modulating circuit generates a signal corresponding to digital information consisting of units each consisting of a predetermined plurality of bits. Pits are formed on in information recording medium in such a manner that the edge positions of the pits are shifted in a discrete fashion according to the signal output from the edge modulating circuit. An error correcting circuit generates an error correction code. The resultant error correction code is added at part of bits of the predetermined plurality of bits.

摘要: In an information recording medium from which information recorded on each pit is reproduced by an optical detection system that obtains a reproduced signal corresponding to each pit by scanning the information recording medium along pit rows by a light beam, data of high recording density can be accurately reproduced by a simple arrangement by shifting in a step-wise fashion edge positions of an information pit from a predetermined reference position in response to digital information to be recorded within a range corresponding to a predetermined shift period smaller than a transition period of a reproduced signal determined in response to a transfer characteristic of the optical detection system. Therefore, a nonlinear intersymbol interference can be reduced without emphasizing a noise component.

摘要: A neural network quantizer for quantizing input analog signals includes a plurality of multi-level neurons. The input analog signals are sampled and supplied to respective ones of the multi-level neurons. Output values of the multi-level neurons are converted into analog values, weighted by weighting coefficients determined in accordance with a frequency band of at least one frequency component of the input analog signals and fed back to the respective one of the multi-level neurons and to the other multi-level neurons. The weighted analog values fed back are compared with the respective ones of the sampled input analog signals. The output values of the multi-level neurons are corrected in response to the compared results, and when the compared results are converged within a predetermined range, the output values of the multi-level neurons are produced to quantize the input analog signals.

摘要: The method of the present invention comprises detecting a recording pattern, which is different for each tract, in each of track groups consisting of a predetermined number N or tracks recorded in advance on an optical disk(1), generating a tracking signal S.sub.ET whose signal level changes on the positive and negative sides of a target track T.sub.0 as the center, and moving the optical spot to the target track T.sub.0 on the basis of this tracking signal S.sub.ET. In this manner, it becomes possible to prevent uncontrollable movement of the optical spot and align the optical spot to a desired recording track within a short period of time.

摘要: An optical system for reading a plurality of radially contiguous individual holograms previously recorded on a rotatable disk along at least one of the disk tracks, each hologram being representative of a predetermined data pattern, and each being recorded as a Fourier transform hologram with respect tot the direction (y direction) tangential to the tracks and as a Fresnel hologram with respect to the radial direction (x direction), and wherein the optical system illuminates the disk with a read-out beam which is at least partially reflected by the disk to an array of photosensitive detectors which generates electrical data signals. A latch circuit is included for recovering the value of each data signal when the read-out beam completely illuminates one of the holograms.

摘要: An apparatus for counting a number of record tracks which an optical head traverses on a basis of a periodical track transverse information INF.sub.TR representing the traverse of the head across the record tracks. The periodical track transverse information INF.sub.TR is derived by sampling information on the record tracks performed discretely on record tracks TR. In the tracks counting apparatus, a tracking signal generating circuit is installed for generating tracking signals V.sub.OP and V.sub.OQ which vary their frequencies and phases so as to follow those of the track transverse information INF.sub.TR. The number of record tracks which the optical head has traversed are counted on the basis of the tracking signals V.sub.OP and V.sub.OQ. The tracking signals V.sub.OP and V.sub.OQ have continuous waveforms so that the number of tracks can accurately be counted even if the only discrete information is derived as the track transverse information INF.sub.TR.
