    摘要: A method is disclosed of manufacturing a pulley with integral bearing comprising a sheet metal pulley mounted on the outer race of a bearing. The pulley is a close sliding fit on the outer race. The interstice between the pulley and the race is at least partly filled with a low-melting-point filler metal which, when heated, melts and diffuses by capillary action into the interstice between the pulley and the race, at least partly filling the interstice and fastens the pulley to the race when it solidifies. The filler metal is advantageously a brazing alloy having a melting point much lower than that of the parts to be joined together. Applications of the method include the manufacture of belt tensioning pulleys with integral bearings, as used on automobile vehicle engines, for example.

    摘要: In a spring biased tension arrangement for transmission belts, a friction element is installed coaxial with respect to the pivot bearing. The friction element provides a turning direction dependent damping of the pivot arm. It may be disc or sleeve shaped and is inserted in an annular space to contact a limit surface with rubbing contact. Tongues or spoke elements, inclined to the turning direction, have inclinations dependent more or less elastically upon the turning direction and act for example to change the overall height or thickness of the friction element and therewith an increase of the friction force. The tongues or spoke elements can be connected with a separate spring or formed as a unit with the friction element.

    摘要: In a worm gear comprised of a nut and a threaded spindle, the groove bottoms of the threads are provided with a central support projection, and a radially deeper region is provided adjacent the projection on both sides thereof. When radial forces act in the same direction at both ends of the worm gear, the projection serves as a radial support projection with sufficient axial play. By providing convexly curved thread flank surfaces, for example on the nut, the threads run under the same conditions also when the axes of the nut and spindle are inclinded to one another as a result of the application thereto of inclined forces. As a consequence, axial play is reduced. Clamping of the threads is avoided in this case, however, since the support projection hinders a wedging action between the threads of the worm gear.

    摘要: The combination comprising a machine element, a tubular member and a ring fastener for mounting the machine element in the circular bore of the tubular member, the ring fastener being in the form of a split annular ring member having confronting end faces, the ring member being of a diameter slightly greater than the diameter of a bore in the tubular member, each end face having a first axial portion extending generally parallel to the axis of the ring member and a second inclined portion extending at a predetermined angle to the axis of the ring member. The first and second portions of the end faces normally align and confront in the relaxed condition of the ring member and are displaceable axially relative to one another for insertion in the bore of the tubular member and after seating in the bore displaceable in an opposite axial direction by application of an axial force adjacent the axial end faces. The end faces coact and move from a partially overlapped position wherein the edge of the first surface of one end face confronts and engages the second surface of the other end face to a circumferentially aligned position resulting in the circumferential expansion of the ring such that a radially directed friction self-locking effect between the ring and the bore is achieved.
