An engine exhaust system attachment is provided that includes a housing a fan, a filter, and a conduit. The housing is configured to enclose an exhaust turbine, an exhaust manifold, and at least a portion of an exhaust pipe. The exhaust turbine, the exhaust manifold, and the exhaust pipe are connected to receive exhaust gas from an engine and are mounted to an engine frame of a device. The fan is configured for mounting to the device to move air. The filter is configured for mounting to the fan to receive the moved air and to provide filtered air. The conduit is configured for connecting the filter to the housing to provide the filtered air to the housing.

The present invention relates generally to compositions and methods for producing lactic acid using a lactic acid producing microorganism. More specifically, the present invention relates to methods for producing lactic acid with high yield, high concentration and high volumetric productivity through biological fermentation by Enterococcus faecalis, or recombinant microorganisms transformed to produce lactate dehydrogenase using the lactate dehydrogenase-encoding genes derived from E. faecalis.

A method for determining the efficacy of a vaccine comprising: providing serum from an animal inoculated with a vaccine; providing a plurality of antigen-linked nanoparticles; contacting the serum with the plurality of antigen linked nanoparticles; contacting the serum and the plurality of antigen linked nanoparticles with a plurality of Fc receptor-expressing cells; measuring amount antigen-linked nanoparticle uptake by of the Fc receptor-expressing cells; determining efficacy of the vaccine by comparing the level of antigen-linked nanoparticle uptake to a baseline level of uptake wherein a greater nanoparticle uptake compared to the baseline level of uptake is indicative of greater vaccine efficacy.

The present invention relates generally to using upconverting inks for producing highly-resolved patterns for, inter alia, security applications. More specifically, the present invention relates to the use of sols (inks) and printing processes that produce well-defined printed features consisting of polymers impregnated with luminescent upconversion nanocrystals. The patterns printed using such inks and processes may exhibit defined shapes, characters of text, and various other types of images.

The present disclosure relates to compositions and systems for improving tissue perfusion such that blood flow is increased, improving tissue healing time and reducing or eliminating tissue necrosis. In a preferred embodiment, the compositions comprise a phosphodiesterase inhibitor, a calcium channel blocker, a nitric oxide producer, and an α-adrenergic antagonist. Methods of making the compositions and using the compositions are also disclosed.

A precision planter having a frame configured to transport the precision planter through a crop area, at least one hopper coupled to the frame, and a seed dispersion system coupled to the frame. The seed dispersion system comprises a first seed meter, a funnel, and a seed dispersion tube, each configured to receive a first seed mix, which may include one or more types of seeds and/or fertilizer. The system also includes a fan, a seed dispersion tube, a seed dispersion head, and a plurality of seed hoses configured to deliver the first seed mix to the crop area. The seed dispersion system is configured to implement a prescription map of the crop area including at least two cover crop zones corresponding to seed mix(es) and or fertilizer prescriptions, which are determined based on location data. The seed dispersion system is configured to dispense the first seed mix at a first seed dispersion rate in the first cover crop zone.

An anaerobic bioreactor with electrolytic regeneration system, method and apparatus for monitoring pH levels which is simultaneously efficient in both anaerobic digestion and optimized filtration process is disclosed. To maintain the pH stability of an anaerobic bioreactor, an electrolysis process is integrated with the bioreactor. The integration of an electrolysis process with the bioreactor sustains the pH in the optimized range for anaerobic process while enhancing the removal of contaminants in the bioreactor, augmenting biogas production, and mitigating fouling.

Cold spray devices and systems are disclosed. They include a flowpath having an inlet adapted for receiving communication with two or more inputs and an outlet adapted to discharge the two or more inputs. A discharge nozzle may be included in the flowpath of the outlet and a confluence may be included in the flowpath at the inlet for combining the two or more inputs. A nozzle body houses the discharge nozzle separate and downstream from the confluence of the two inputs.

Disclosed herein is a conductive coating composition that includes a functionalized carbon nanomaterial and/or boron nanomaterial and a fluid component. The nanomaterial and fluid component forms hydrogen bond network in the disclosed composition. Because of the formed hydrogen bonds, the disclosed coating exhibits enhanced thermal or electrical conductivity. Also disclosed is a method to improve thermal or electrical conductivity of an existing coating composition.
