Abstract:
A window lifter for a motor vehicle is provided. The window lifter comprising a guide rail with a rack toothing, along which a follower drive unit, which carries the pane, can be moved by means of a pinion which meshes with the rack toothing, and the follower drive unit is guided in relation to the guide rail via rolling bodies. The follower drive unit comprising a drive motor, a guide and gearing unit which holds the pinion and the at least one rolling body, and a support which holds drive motor and the guide and gearing unit.
Abstract:
A mobile terminal, such as a mobile telephone, has a hinge with a helical spring and which provides both snap opening or automatic opening upon activation of a release means as well as a freely selectable angular position between the rotating parts of the terminal. Also, a new type of spring hinges or clutches are described for use in, for example, this type of terminal.
Abstract:
A mobile terminal having three parts rotatably interconnected by hinges. The terminal can be a mobile telephone having an operative position where a microphone and a loudspeaker are positioned for conversation. When not in operation, the terminal may be positioned around a user's wrist in a safe manner. Removing the terminal from the wrist requires operation of a release means or the overcoming of a predetermined force, which is a safety measure of the hinges and the terminal. The hinges provide a combination of snap or automatic rotation and freely selective rotational positions of the parts of the terminal.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a servo drive comprising an electromechanical energy converter, which has a rotatably mounted disc rotor for generating a torque and a stepping up mechanism that is connected downstream of the disc rotor, for coupling the disc rotor to an output element and for stepping up the torque that acts on the disc rotor and comprising a locking mechanism that locks a rotational displacement of the output element, when a torque is introduced on the output side. According to the invention, the locking mechanism comprises a coil spring which can be radially expanded and compressed and which extends around the outer periphery of the stepping up mechanism.
Abstract:
A dual rack and pinion system for a window lift mechanism includes window brackets for simple mounting to a window. The system includes a modular frame design to improve assembly of the window lift mechanism into the door of a vehicle. An assembly method is provided for the dual rack and pinion system. The system is also provided with a smart motor and incorporates resilient shock absorbers in the dual rack and pinion gear train to allow more time for the smart motor to detect and react to an obstruction in the window.
Abstract:
Gear unit and a motor-driven gear unit for cable window lift systems of motor vehicles, including drive and gear mechanism which cooperates with the drive and is coupled to rotatably mounted cable drum for winding and unwinding cable of the cable window lift system. According to the invention a diameter of the cable drum of the gear unit or motor-driven gear unit is in a range from about 22 mm to about 30 mm, wherein a gear ratio of the gear mechanism ranges from about 1:38 to about 1:55. A cable drum has, on its end side, claws which engage in correspondingly designed recesses on the end side of a worm wheel. Electric motors having a maximum driving torque of only about 5.7 Nm can be used. Overall, the size of the gear unit or motor-driven gear unit can be reduced by about 40-50%.

Abstract:
A damper includes a housing and a rotor. A portion of the rotor extends outwardly of the housing and has a gear rotatably disposed thereon. A coil spring encircles the portion of the rotor, and has an end segment secured to the gear. Rotation of the gear in one direction tightens the grip of the spring on the rotor, and rotation of the gear in the opposite direction loosens the grip of the spring on the rotor.
Abstract:
A computer display includes a pivotally mounted upper housing having a display screen, a brake used to retard pivoting motion of this upper housing, and a release mechanism for releasing the brake so that the upper housing can be freely moved. The display screen is preferably a touchscreen, which is touched to indicate a selection made by the user, with the brake resisting a tilting movement of the screen as it is touched. In a first version, two brakes are used to retard motion in both directions, with a single release wheel being turned in one direction to allow rearward motion of the upper housing and in another direction to allow forward motion of the upper housing. In a second version, a single brake is released by stopping motion of a release mandrel to unwrap a clutch spring. In a third version, two brakes, operating near opposite edges of the upper housing to stop downward movement of the upper housing, provide a particularly stiff mechanism for mounting the upper housing, and are simultaneously released by turning a knob to pivot a shaft.
Abstract:
A window lift mechanism for raising and lowering a window in a vehicle door includes a support bracket mounted to the window and a motor supported on the support bracket, wherein the support bracket permits the axial and rotational movement of the window relative to the support bracket. A pair of parallel, vertical racks are mounted to the door and are positioned immediately adjacent to the window. A worm gear is driven by a worm with a lead angle greater than seven degrees coupled to a motor. A clutch mechanism is utilized to prevent back drive of the worm/worm gear system. The worm gear is operatively coupled to a pinion gear with resilient shock absorbers that are provided with notched surfaces to accommodate for compression of the resilient material with an enclosed space.
