    摘要: A mirror element comprising a front element, a rear element, electrochromic material therebetween, and a spotter optic located at the rear surface of the front element. At least a portion of the spotter optic has a first radius of curvature and at least a portion of the front surface of the front element has a greater second radius of curvature. A line perpendicular to the front surface extends through both the electrochromic material and the spotter optic. A first electrode coating and a second electrode coating are activated to activate the electrochromic material in order to dim a reflection off of the mirror element. A reflective coating of the spotter optic can form a portion of the first electrode coating. The first electrode coating and the reflective coating can overlap.

The active layer has an optical transmission which changes upon projecting an electric field therethrough.     摘要: The present disclosure relates, according to some embodiments, to compositions and devices operable for infra-red transmission and blocking comprising a layered structure having a first electrically conducting layer, a conjugated electrochromic polymer layer, an electrolyte layer and a second electrically conducting layer, wherein the first and second electrically conducting layers have an infrared transparency and the conjugated electrochromic polymers may be operable to be electrically switched between a transparent state that transmits infrared light to an opaque state that does not transmit infrared light. In some embodiments, a device of the disclosure may also have one or more outer substrates sandwiching the other layers. Some embodiments relate to single-layered devices. Some embodiments relate to combined layers. Compositions and devices of the disclosure may be integrated into a wide variety of infrared systems for transmission, shuttering and calibration applications.

A first thiophene derivative (2,3-Di-thiophen-2-yl-thieno[3,4-b]pyrazine), which was previously investigated as a nonlinear optical material, is here disclosed for its use as an EC material and for its incorporation into an EC device. Synthesis of two new thiophene derivatives (2,5-di(thien-2-yl)-3,4-di(2,2,2-trifluoro-ethoxy)-thiophene and 2,5-(2,3-dihydro-thieno[3,4-b][1,4]dioxin-5-yl)-3,4-di(2,2,2-trifluoro-ethoxy)-thiophene), and a new pyrazine derivative (2,3-dibenzyl-5,7-di(thien-2-yl) thieno[3,4-b]pyrazine) are also disclosed, since these materials are all able to selectively change state to appear a green color and can be polymerized to achieve a green EC polymer.

    摘要: An electrochemical cell, and a method of producing an electrochemical cell are provided. The method includes a step in which a counter electrode film and a mold film are crimped. A sol-gel precursor is inserted into a pore in the mold film provided on the counter electrode film. The sol-gel precursor is cooled to form a semi-hardened gel. The mold film is peeled off from the counter electrode film. The semi-hardened gel is cooled to form a gel electrolyte film. The sealing film is provided on the counter film, with the gel electrolyte film being fitted in the pore of the sealing film. A working electrode film is crimped on the sealing film. The stacked films are thermocompression bonded, and a single electrochemical cell is produced by cutting.

    摘要: Varying the optical absorption of an electrochromic device in situ allows optimal control over the depth and quality of laser patterning lines when patterning electrochromic devices. Accordingly, an electrochromic device comprises a target conductive layer, an absorbing electrochromic layer formed below the target layer, and an electrolyte layer formed below the absorbing electrochromic layer. The absorbing electrochromic layer is placed in a darkened state, and the target layer is laser ablated using a wavelength that is minimally absorbed in the target layer and a fluence level that does not ablate layers of the electrochromic device that are below the absorbing electrochromic layer. The absorbing electrochromic layer is placed in the darkened state by applying a predetermined control voltage to the electrochromic device, forming the electrochromic device by dark-state deposition, or forming an electrochromic device that is in its darkened state in an equilibrium state.
