Abstract:
Electric submersible well pumping systems operable in well temperatures of above about 180° C. (356° F.) utilize high temperature electrical insulation. The electrical insulation includes E-base polyimide films or perfluoropolymer TE films on various components. The insulation films are employed around magnet wires that are threaded through slots in the stator. Slot insulation of E-base polyimide or perfluoropolymer TE film surrounds the magnet wires in the stator slots. Sheets of E-base polyimide or perfluoropolymer TE film extend around and between phase loops of the magnet wire at the lower end of the stator. The motor contains a PAO oil having additives to dissipate acid generated by epoxy used in the motor.
Abstract:
A transmission line portion of a flat cable that is bent at a position along the longitudinal direction includes a dielectric element body, a first ground conductor, and a second ground conductor. The dielectric element body includes a signal conductor at the middle position of the thickness direction. The first ground conductor includes elongated conductors and bridge conductors. The elongated conductors are spaced in the width direction of the dielectric element body, and extend in the longitudinal direction. The bridge conductors connect the elongated conductors at spacings along the longitudinal direction. The spacing of bridge conductors across the bending point in a bent portion is smaller than the spacing of adjacent bridge conductors located in a straight portion.
Abstract:
There is provided a flat cable able to decrease the number of components and able to be small-sized, and a wiring harness provided with the flat cable. The wiring harness is provided with a connector and a flat cable. The connector is provided with a connector housing and a female terminal. The flat cable has a plurality of electric wires; and an elongated weft. The weft has crossing sections that are perpendicular to the plurality of electric wires and that are disposed at the plurality of electric wires rising and falling by a certain rule; and parallel sections that are continuous with the crossing sections and that overlap the electric wires positioned at the ends among the plurality of electric wires. The weft and the electric wires are tightly woven with each other so as to prevent the weft from moving along the longitudinal direction of electric wires relative to the electric wires.
Abstract:
A manufacturing method uses a solid coating die for applying an insulation varnish around a flat wire conductor. The die includes a die body and a die hole formed through the die body, into which the conductor is inserted. The die hole includes an entry portion having a cross section monotonically decreasing along a conductor insertion direction, and a coating portion including at least a sub-portion having a constant cross section. The cross section of the coating portion is a rectangle having four straight sides and four rounded corners. Each inner surface of each straight side has an inwardly projecting protrusion, a top contour of each protrusion being a circular arc, an elongated circular arc, an elliptical arc or a combination of these arcs, the maximum curvature of the top contour of each protrusion being larger than the maximum curvature of inner surface of the rounded corners.
Abstract:
A gas turbine engine installation is provided that has a plurality of flexible printed circuit board (FPCB) harnesses to transfer electrical signals, including electrical power, around a gas turbine engine. The plurality of FPCB harnesses is held to the gas turbine engine installation using generally U-shaped clips that have a base from which first and second sidewalls extend. The FPCB harness is held between the tips of base-teeth extending from the base, and side-teeth extending from the first and second sidewalls. In this way, the FPCB harness can be held securely in position by the clip.
Abstract:
Provided is a wiring harness that has favorable radiation performance, is capable of achieving a reduced space for wiring, and allows an easy wiring task. A wiring harness includes three single flat cables, each of which has a flat shape in cross section in a width direction and includes a conductor having a flat shape and an insulator with which the conductor is coated, wherein the single flat cables are disposed in parallel in the width direction in a protection member where the flat cables are prevented from overlapping each other.
Abstract:
A cable includes at least one plastic impregnated fiber layer and at least one conductor in contact with the at least one fiber layer. In some examples, the fiber may be glass fiber, aramid fiber or carbon fiber. In some examples, the plastic may be thermoset plastic, thermoplastic or chemically set resin. In some examples, the conductor may be an electrical conductor or an optical fiber.

Abstract:
A multi-conductor electrical connector member includes a plurality of electrical conductors arranged in a spaced apart and generally parallel side-by-side manner. The plurality of electrical conductors includes a signal source end. At least one electrical discontinuity is formed in a selected subset of the plurality of electrical conductors. The at least one electrical discontinuity is formed proximate the signal source end in order to improve the electromagnetic characteristics of the multi-conductor electrical connector member.
Abstract:
A method and apparatus for loading a ribbon cable into a protective jacket. A leader with a first end and a second end is enclosed in the jacket. The second end of the leader is then attached to the cable, while the first end of the leader is used for pulling the leader through the jacket. The first end of the leader is then pulled through the jacket until a parallel wire section of the cable is exposed. The exposed wires are then cut to length resulting in the ribbon cable being loaded into the protective jacket and ready for installation.
