Abstract:
The invention provides a mode switching method in a digital image acquisition apparatus with a first button for taking pictures and a second button for mode switching. Snapshot modes and a viewing mode are provided. A snapshot parameter is for recording whether the apparatus is currently used for taking pictures. Each time when the apparatus is used for taking pictures via the first button, the snapshot parameter is recorded as a snapshot status. A mode parameter is for recording which mode the apparatus is currently situated. Each time when the apparatus is used for mode switching via the second button, the mode parameter is recorded as a corresponding mode status. When the apparatus performs mode switching via the second button, if the snapshot parameter is at the same time recorded as the snapshot status, the apparatus is switched directly to the viewing mode in irrespective to its original snapshot mode.
Abstract:
In an electronic imaging apparatus, image information of an image signal photoelectrically converted from an image incident is stored in image information storing means in a format dependent upon a type of the applied storage device. Provided therein are communication means for transmitting and/or receiving image information generated in this apparatus or the other equivalent apparatuses while an operation mode of the apparatus is set for communication and switch means for causing the communication means to start a communication mode operation.
Abstract:
In an image processing method and apparatus for decoding and displaying input encoded data, the upper limit value of the data size to be stored in a memory that stores fragmented encoded data which form image data is set. It is checked based on the data size already stored in that memory, the upper limit value, and the data size of the input encoded data, if that input encoded data can be stored in the memory. If it is determined that the input encoded data cannot be stored in the memory, a region to be deleted in the image data of the data stored in the memory is determined. Data included in the determined region to be deleted is deleted for each fragmented data as a unit. If it is determined that the input encoded data can be stored in the memory, or after the data is deleted, the input encoded data is stored in the memory.
Abstract:
A digital still camera offers a frame classification mode where the captured frame images are classified into plural scene categories in a photo movie. A display section of the camera main body has an image display area for displaying through images and, beside it, a category display area for displaying the plural scene categories. When an athletic festival is selected as the scenario for the photo movie, the scene categories such as “opening ceremony”, “morning athletic events”, “lunch break”, “afternoon athletic events”, and “closing ceremony” are displayed. One of these scene categories is specified before capturing an image. The data of the captured frame image is stored in an image file together with frame classification information which represents the specified scene category.
Abstract:
The present invention provides an image pickup apparatus which obtains image data from an image pickup device at a capture directive, performs predetermined signal processing on the image data, and records the image data on a storage medium, comprising a communication device which communicates data with external equipment, a time count device which counts elapsed time from last capture and a communication control device which transmits the image data through the communication device to the external equipment when the elapsed time counted by the time count device exceeds predetermined time.
Abstract:
An electronic camera that generates a still image by photographing a subject, generates image information related to the still image having a data volume smaller than a data volume of the still image and records the still image and the image information, includes: a frame feed reproduction device that sequentially reproduces a plurality of still images recorded in advance; a high-speed frame feed reproduction device that sequentially displays a plurality of sets of image information recorded in advance; and a switching device that selects either the frame feed reproduction device or the high-speed frame feed reproduction device to switch between the frame feed reproduction device and the high-speed frame feed reproduction device.
Abstract:
A recording medium which records thereon moving pictures encoded by a first encoding method, first pictures corresponding to the moving pictures and which have pixels smaller than the moving pictures, still pictures encoded by a second encoding method, and second pictures corresponding to the still pictures and which have pixels smaller than the still pictures.
Abstract:
A video reproducing method and apparatus includes reproducing at least still pictures encoded by a first encoding method and first pictures that have pixels smaller than the still pictures from a recording medium. The recording medium has the still pictures, the first pictures, moving pictures encoded by a second encoding method, and second pictures corresponding to the moving pictures that have pixels smaller than the moving pictures recorded thereon. A plurality of the reproduced first pictures are outputted and the still pictures corresponding to selected first pictures are outputted.
Abstract:
Digital image data can be edited easily to reflect a preference or an intention of a user. Sizes of free spaces and used spaces of recording media of different types are read and displayed on a display device by using the same scale for the same sizes. By enabling the user to visually confirm the sizes in this manner, the digital image data sets can be edited.
Abstract:
In an image sensing apparatus which stores data of images obtained by an image sensor as image files, in a directory in a recording medium in which the number of recordable image files is predetermined in accordance with a predetermined storage format, a first number of files makable in the recording medium is calculated based on the predetermined storage format, a second number of files recordable in the recording medium is calculated based on a remaining capacity of the recording medium, the first number of files and the second number of files are compared with each other, notification is instructed to be made in correspondence with the result of comparison, and notification is made in response to the instruction.
