    摘要: The present disclosure reveals a blending coat to be applied prior to painting a surface to improve the adhesion of a paint to the surface, improve blending of colors, keeping the surface wet which prevents shadowing or the production of a halo, and with regard to metallic paint, allows the metallic paint to lay down so that the metallic paint is even and not blotchy. The present disclosure also reveals a method of application of the blending coat.

    摘要: Compounds comprising one or more functionalized fatty acid esters, which may be derived from bio-based oils, are used as a low-VOC coalescent agent (i.e., a coalescent agent having a low content of volatile organic compounds) in waterborne coating compositions. The functional group can be epoxide, vicinal diol, hydroxy phosphotriester, hydroxy ester, hydroxyl alkyl ester, hydroxyl benzyl ester, hydroxy ether, hydroxy amino, hydroxy sulfide, hydroxy nitrile, hydroxy amine, terminal alcohol, thiiran, ketone, or cyclic carbonate. The present disclosure also relates to waterborne coating compositions comprising these functionalized fatty acid esters.

    摘要: A pattern is formed on a substrate with a layer of a curable composition (A1) containing a component (a1) serving as a polymerizable compound on a surface of the substrate, then dispensing droplets of a curable composition (A2) containing at least a component (a2) serving as a polymerizable compound dropwise discretely onto the layer of the curable composition (A1), subsequently sandwiching a mixture layer of the curable composition (A1) and the curable composition (A2) between a mold having a pattern and the substrate, then irradiating the mixture layer with light to cure the layer, and releasing the mold from the mixture layer after the curing, a contact angle of a composition of components of the curable composition (A1) except a solvent of the curable composition (A1) with respect to a surface of the mold being 10° or less.
