    Abstract: An apparatus may include a storage structure including a power connection fabric, a first device interface configured to receive a first device having a form that may be compatible with a device form, and connect the first device to the power connection fabric, and a second device interface configured to receive a second device having a form that may be compatible with the device form, and connect the second device to the power connection fabric. The first device may include a storage device, and the second device may include a power device. The first device interface may include a connector to connect the storage device to the power connection fabric. The first device interface may include a device slot to receive the storage device.     Abstract: In a network data center, a plurality of modules provide power to equipment racks. Each of the modules has a plurality of taps which are connected by internal switching elements to power mains through an internal power distribution bus, such that each of the modules can switch any of the plurality of taps to two of the three phases of power. Each of the equipment racks has a multi-branch power distribution unit, branches of which may be connected together to receive power from the same tap. The number of branches in each multi-branch power distribution unit is configurable to adapt to the power requirements of the equipment rack. Power and control signals for the logic and control circuits of the modules are supplied separately from the power mains by a coordinating computer which has the modules connected in a redundant ring topology.

    Abstract: Systems and methods for power consumption management based upon type of energy source in heterogenous computing platforms are described. In an illustrative, non-limiting embodiment, an Information Handling System (IHS) may include a heterogeneous computing platform having a plurality of devices and a memory coupled to the heterogeneous computing platform, where the memory includes a plurality of sets of firmware instructions, where each of the sets of firmware instructions, upon execution by a respective device among the plurality of devices, enables the respective device to provide a corresponding firmware service, and where at least one of the plurality of devices operates as an orchestrator configured to: determine a type of energy source used to power the IHS; and based at least in part upon the determination, change a power consumption parameter of the IHS.

    Abstract: Systems and methods are described herein for provisioning power to a power consumption device in a depowered state (e.g., a device not consuming current such as standby current). Aspects discussed herein relate to controlling a detector, switches, and/or an outlet such as a smart outlet. In some examples, a message may be sent to a powered controller. The controller may be configured to send a signal to activate a detector, which may be sent via a wireless signal and/or via generation of a resonance frequency via a tuned circuit (e.g., via resonant coupling). The signal may include “bootstrap” power that enables the detector to activate a switch to receive power from an additional or alternative power source. The detector may further receive and decode the signal to operate one or more outlets or switches, gates, relays, thyristors, transistors, or so on to provide power to a power-consumption device.

    Abstract: A Power over Ethernet (PoE) system includes a plurality of PoE ports, a power detector, a plurality of switches, at least one DC converter module and a controller. The power detector can detect the power input from each of the PoE ports and accordingly generate a detection signal. The controller can generate a control signal according to the detection signal, and the control signal is used to control the switches in order to control the electrical connections between the PoE ports and the at least one DC converter module.
