Abstract:
A cold cathode for generating an abnormal glow discharge electron beam within a vacuum chamber is mounted to a wall of the vacuum chamber such that only the emitting front face of the cold cathode, itself electrically insulated from the vacuum chamber wall by a narrow gap therebetween, is located inside the vacuum chamber, while the remainder of the cold cathode is located outside the vacuum chamber.
Abstract:
An improved structure for cooling a cathode ray tube apparatus for projecting color images includes a cooling medium contained in a space defined by a front panel of the cathode ray tube, a front panel or lens, and a metallic frame for transferring heat from the tube to the frame. An improvement includes an air or expansion chamber communicating with the defined cooling medium space to permit expansion of the heated cooling medium into the chamber, while preserving the distance between the front panel of the tube and the lens.
Abstract:
In an electron tube with coaxial electrodes comprising an anode, a cathode and at least one grid, the base of each electrode being connected to the outside through a connection, there is mounted between the base of the grid and said connection a solid annular piece having a duct for the passage of a cooling fluid, said duct being connected to at least one fluid inlet tube and one fluid outlet tube.
Abstract:
The electron exit window assembly contains a metal cover plate, a titanium insert piece and a titanium exit window. The cover plate covers the interior of the last cavity of the accelerator. It contains an insert opening into which is inserted the insert piece in a vacuum tight manner. The insert piece in turn contains a hole which is covered by the exit window. The cover plate preferably is made of stainless steel, and the insert piece is preferably brazed into the insert opening of the cover plate.
Abstract:
An apparatus, system, and method for cooling a lamp assembly is described herein. The apparatus includes an air channel and an axial slot. A flow of air is injected into the air channel of a lamp housing, wherein the lamp housing comprises at least a bulb. The axial slot is located in a reflector housing and has dimensions that enable a constant flow of air through the slot and across the bulb when a predetermined air flow is input to the air channel.
