摘要: A pattern sensor installed in a sewing machine for sensing patterns on two opposing sheets of cloth so that the patterns on the separate cloths are correctly aligned while sewing. The sensor is composed of a sensor head disposed between the two sheets of cloth, a light source, a light receiver, two light conduits including bundles of thin optical fibers, and a reflector which is composed of two prisms provided in the sensor head. The light emitted from the light source is transmitted via separate conduits and respectively enters the prisms. One beam is reflected upward toward the upper cloth, and the other is reflected downward toward the lower cloth for sensing the patterns. The light reflected on each cloth returns to the light receiver via the reverse route to be processed as a pattern signal.

摘要: A device for supplying a developing solution in a wet-type electrophotographic copying machine has a scraper pressed against a developing roller positioned in confronting relation to a latent-image carrier or photosensitive drum. The scraper and the developing roller jointly form a space of a V-shaped cross section which serves to form a pool of the developing solution. When the developing roller is rotated, the developing solution is drawn upwardly out of the solution pool and uniformly covers the circumferential surface of the developing roller whereupon it is transferred to the latent-image carrier. The apparatus provides a simple way of eliminating air bubbles from the developing solution before it is applied to the latent-image carrier and for applying the developing solution uniformly to the surface of the latent-image carrier.

摘要: A portable image forming device which is moved on an original in a direction perpendicular to a primary scan direction for subscan, and divides original reflection light beams into picture pickup elements in the primary scan direction through an image forming optical system to imageform the pickup elements on a pickup device for reading. The pickup range of the pickup device in the primary scan direction is designed to be variable, and means for setting the pickup range is provided. With a portable copying machine which houses the pickup device and a printing section including a writing head in a single casing, paper is fed to the printer section as required by making use of the movement of the machine for original scan.

摘要: A printer has a record unit including a record in the form of an endless belt which moves in one direction, a charger for charging the record, an exposure unit for forming an electrostatic latent image on the charged record, a developing unit for converting the latent image into a visual image, a sheet feeder for feeding a record sheet from a stack, as separated one by one, and feeding it into close contact with the record which carries the visual image, a transfer unit for transferring the visual image from the record onto the record sheet, a fixing unit for fixing the transferred visual image on the record sheet, and a delivery unit of delivering the fixed record sheet out of the printer. As a characteristic of the invention, the record unit and the developer unit are detachably mounted together and capable of being slid out of the printer for servicing. The other elements of the printer are disposed around the record unit in a generally U-shaped configuration, so that the record/developer unit can be slid into or out of the hollow portion defined by the U-shaped configuration.

摘要: A copier capable of binding copy papers at their center or their edge as desired. A bookbinding device is operatively connected to a paper outlet of the copier. To bind the papers at their center, a folding mechanism of the bookbinding device is activated first in order to form a crease along the center of each copy paper. Then, a binding mechanism of the bookbinding device is activated to sequentially stack the papers in an upwardly convex form and such that the creases face upward in alignment and, then, stitch the papers together along the aligned creases by means of a staple or the like. The bound papers are discharged to a stacking mechanism of the bookbinding device in a developed position so as to be stacked there while being folded double in the creases. When it is desired to duplicate documents on papers which are equal to or double the size of the documents and bind the copies at the center, a positional relationship between the documents and the papers is set up by a unique method.

摘要: A device for mounting fuel injection systems and particularly fuel injection nozzles and a fuel supply manifold. The device includes U-shaped structures having coaxial, spaced holes into which are mounted fuel injection nozzles. The fuel supply manifold is fixed to the structure such that it is in alignment with the nozzles to provide fuel thereto. The nozzles are mounted and sealed by resilient members positioned and compressed within the coaxial holes to provide vibration isolation, thermal isolation and accommodation of dimensional control anomolies in what is therefore allowed to be crudely fabricated components.

摘要: The present invention is a binder for a polydiene composite propellant comprising a small amount of binder and has as its object the production of the binder, which can provide stable physical properties between production lots and has a long pot life, and consists mainly of a polymer which has a predetermined molecular weight between crosslinks and which is obtained by reacting a combination of a polydiene glycol having a hydroxyl group number of 1.8-2.1 and a number average molecular weight of 1,000-5,000, a trifunctional crosslinking agent, a diisocyanate and a bifunctional chain extender. When a diene polymer having a functional group number of not more than 1 is additionally added to the above described combination, the elongation of the binder is improved and the use of a plasticizer can be reduced or eliminated.

摘要: A process for deodorizing an exhaust gas containing at least one smelly material selected from the group consisting of acidic smelly materials, such as hydrogen sulfide, mecaptans, dimethyl sulfide, dimethyl disulfide and the like; basic smelly materials, such as ammonia, amines and the like; and smelly organic material, such as ketones, alcohols, aldehydes, carboxylic acids and the like is disclosed. Vapor-liquid contact of the exhaust gas with a sodium hypochlorite solution is caused in the presence of a catalyst which is a mixture of nickel peroxide and at least one carrier. In the presence of the catalyst, placed in a column, sodium hypochlorite solution falling from the upper portion of the column contacts exhaust gas rising from the lower portion of the column to promote catalyst oxidation reaction. The amount of sodium hypochlorite solution fed into the upper portion of column is adjusted so that the concentration of the sodium hypochlorite solution in the bottom of column is maintained at such a desired value that optimum oxidation reaction occurs, and sodium hydroxide solution is added to the sodium hypochlorite solution so that pH of the sodium hypochlorite solution in the bottom of the column is kept within the range of from 7.5 to 11.0.
