Abstract:
Fuel feed systems capable of providing substantially consistent flow of fuel to a fuel cell and also capable of tolerating varying pressures from a reservoir (also referred to as fuel supply or fuel cell cartridge) and the fuel cell while maintaining substantially consistent control flow to the fuel cell are disclosed.
Abstract:
An integrated circuit providing a function of substituting LED open and a protection against static electricity and surge can be coupled and parallelly connected to an LED. The integrated circuit comprises a thyristor, such as SCR, with three electrodes, a transistor for a gate of the thyristor to trigger signals, and a voltage detecting circuit. When the LED breaks due to open, a proper current is acquired via the voltage detecting circuit so as to trigger the SCR, thereby providing a substitute current route that allows the rest of the serially-connected LEDs to keep lighting. When static electricity or surge occurs at two ends of the LEDs, the integrated circuit provides a route to guide the static electricity or the surge, which protects the LEDs.
Abstract:
A targeted integrated image is created for delivery to a user. Content of potential interest to the user is determined based on at least one user preference. This determination may be made prior to or during the user's request for an image, such as video content, or while the user is receiving an image, such as a menu or programming guide. An image representing the content of potential interest to the user, such as a barker is selected and combined with another image of interest to the user to form a targeted integrated image for delivery to the user. The user preference may include information representing content viewing habits or content ordering habits of the user. The user preferences may be associated with the identity of the user.
Abstract:
An Ethernet switch for use in an Ethernet network comprises a set of ingress ports for receiving data frames and a set of egress ports. A memory is associated with each ingress port and stores forwarding information indicating one or more of the egress ports to which data frames received by that ingress port should be forwarded. A control or management interface receives information about a network connection established, or to be established, through the switch. A switch controller causes forwarding information to be stored in a memory associated with a first ingress port which the network connection will use, on the basis of the received information about a network connection. Forwarding information is not stored in a memory associated with a second of the set of ingress ports which the network connection will not use. Preferably, the switch controller causes forwarding information to be stored only in a memory associated with the first ingress port which the network connection will use and not to be stored in a memory associated with any of the other ingress ports.
Abstract:
A system and method of indirectly modifying an environmental condition at a test site in one embodiment includes providing a test site on a substrate, providing a hydrogel composition loaded with a chemical factor at the test site, providing an actuator configured to activate the hydrogel composition to release a chemical factor at the test site, controlling the actuator to activate the hydrogel composition to release a chemical factor at the test site, and modifying the local chemical environment at the test site with the chemical factor.
Abstract:
A method and device for identifying degradation in service quality for a wireless media service. The wireless media service has a known expected packet generation rate, which may be determined by the device based upon the codec and payload size selected on initiating the media service. At a receiving device, the packets actually received by the device from the other termination point are counted over a time period, and this number is compared with the number of packets that were expected based upon the known packet generation rate. From this comparison a packet loss rate may be determined. If the packet loss rate exceeds a threshold level, then the device may issue a user alert, terminate the service, or take other action. The threshold level may be established based upon a packet loss rate corresponding to a significant degree of service quality degradation.
Abstract:
A system-to-reservoir connector is disclosed in which a system-side-sub-connector and a reservoir-side-sub-connector provide for a fluid connection that is resilient to external forces, is substantially leak-proof upon insertion and retraction, and is orientation independent.
Abstract:
A method for forming a nanostructure according to one embodiment includes creating a hole in an insulating layer positioned over an electrically conductive layer; and forming a nanocable in the hole such that the nanocable extends through the hole in the insulating layer and protrudes therefrom, the nanocable being in communication with the electrically conductive layer. Additional systems and methods are also presented.
Abstract:
The present invention discloses an overload protection control mechanism for a power supply, wherein a control mechanism installed between two connectors automatically switches the DC power states of the output signal of the overload protection circuit according to the electric connection state between two connectors. Thereby, the present invention not only can prevent the user, who lacks the knowledge of the overload protection circuit, from incorrectly operating the overload protection circuit but also can protect electronic devices from the damage induced by that an unintended touch switches the overload protection circuit erroneously.
