摘要: A float-type flowmeter measures the rate of a fluid flowing upwardly through a tube based on the position of a float movably disposed in the tube and including a magnetic material. A coil is wound around the tube such that the intervals gradually decrease in an axial direction. The coil is excited by an alternating current supplied from an inductance change detector. The inductance change detector detects a change in the inductance of the coil which is caused when the float moves in the axial direction, and generates a voltage. A voltage-to-position (flow rate) converter determines a flow rate from the voltage corresponding to the position of the float.

摘要: In a magnetic recording medium, surface roughness of a glass substrate and the variation of the surface roughness are suppressed to the predetermined range. Namely, the surface roughness (Rmax, Ra, Rq) and the relation (Rmax/Ra) between Rmax and Ra are restricted to the predetermined range. In this event, Ra is representative of a center-line mean roughness, Rmax is defined as a maximum height representative of a difference between a highest point and a lowest point and Rq is representative of a root mean square roughness. Thereby, crystal grains of an underlying layer and a magnetic layer formed thereon are equalized. Specifically, the surface roughness is specified by Rmax≦15 nm, Ra≦1 nm and Rq≦1.5 nm. Further, the ratio between the surface roughness Rmax and the surface roughness Ra is specified by Rmax/Ra≦30.

摘要: A socket for electrical parts includes driving mechanisms that move pressing members from a depressed position to a retired position when an operating member is vertically shifted. The operating member includes racks each of which has rack gears in the vertical direction. Follower gears engageable with the rack gears are also provided. The follower gears have different distances from the rotational pivot to the pitch circle. When the operating member is depressed, the follower gear with a longer distance from the rotational pivot to the pitch circle is engaged with one of the rack gears.

摘要: The present invention relates to a plant growth regulator comprising as an active ingredient an epoxycyclohexane derivative represented by general formula (1): ##STR1## wherein R.sup.1 is a hydrogen atom, a C.sub.1 -C.sub.6, alkyl group or C.sub.3 -C.sub.6 cycloalkyl group, and R.sup.2 and R.sup.3 are independently C.sub.1 -C.sub.6 alkyl groups or are combined to form a C.sub.2 -C.sub.3 polymethylene group which may be substituted with a C.sub.1 -C.sub.6, alkyl group, as well as to a plant growth regulator comprising the epoxycyclohexane derivative and a brassinosteroid as active ingredients. The epoxycyclohexane derivatives exhibit a potent plant growth regulating action which is equivalent to or higher than that of abscisic acid, and are useful as plant growth regulators such as a plant growth accelerator, a germination growth accelerator, a transpiration and wilting inhibitor, a cold resistance enhancer, an accelerator for growing, thickening or maturing fruits, roots, stems or bulbs, etc.. A synergistic effect is achieved by combination of the epoxycyclohexane derivative with a brassinosteroid.
