摘要： An electronic timepiece is provided with a plurality of display elements for the digital display of time driven by time keeping circuitry. A time correcting device coupled to said time keeping circuitry is provided for independently correcting each of said display elements other than the second display elements, said time-correcting device including means for correcting the second display elements by returning same to zero. In another embodiment each of the digits are separately correctable, a carry suppression gate being interposed between the time-keeping circuitry for certain of the display elements actuated by a correction mode signal to permit independent correction of at least minutes and hours. Time correction may be either by the one-step method or the quick feed method.

摘要： A switch apparatus is described including a pair of movable contacts separately mounted on opposite sides of an etched circuit board and ganged together by a loose coupling including a coupling member extending through a hole in such circuit board. Fixed contacts are provided as conductive strips on both sides of the circuit board and the movable contacts are moved in and out of engagement with such fixed contacts by a rotary cam actuator mounted on such circuit board. In one embodiment, a cam follower surface is provided on one of a pair of insulator members joining the movable contacts to mounting springs, while in another embodiment the cam follower surface is provided on one end on the coupling member and such coupling member extends through a hole in the support portion of one of the movable contacts, while its other end engages the support portion of the other movable contact. The movable contacts may be short circuiting contacts each including a pair of spaced leg portions through which current flows in opposite directions to produce opposing fields which reduce the contact inductance.

摘要： An input mechanism for a portable electronic device includes a rotational manipulation mechanism, such as a cap or shaft. The input mechanism also includes a sensor having first capacitive elements coupled to the manipulation mechanism, second capacitive elements, and a dielectric positioned between the first and second capacitive elements. Movement of the manipulation mechanism alters the positions of the first and second capacitive elements with respect to each other and is determinable based on capacitance changes resulting therefrom. In some implementations, the second capacitive elements may be part of an inner ring or partial ring nested at least partially within an outer ring or partial ring.

摘要： To prevent an erroneous operation and improve operability, a button device and a timepiece including the button device are provided. The button device includes: a cylindrical first guide protector 11 protruding from the lateral face of a wristwatch case 1; and a first button 12 disposed in the first guide protector 11 to be slidable inward and outward of the wristwatch case 1. The first button 12 includes a first button head 13 disposed in the first guide protector 11, and a first button shaft 15 passing through a first through hole 14 of the wristwatch case 1. The first button head 13 is inclined obliquely upward relative to the lateral face of the wristwatch case 1. The first guide protector 11 protects the outer periphery of the first button head 13, and this prevents accidental and erroneous operation of the first button 12. The first button head 13 is inclined obliquely upward relative to the lateral face of the wristwatch case 1, and this allows the user to easily place a fingertip on the outer end face of the first button head 13, and so improves the operability of the first button 12.

The housing has an aperture and the rotatable and translatable input mechanism has a shaft positioned at least partially within the aperture and a manipulation structure coupled to the shaft. The manipulation structure may be manipulated to rotationally and translationally move the shaft to provide rotational and translational input to the electronic device. A compressible seal is positioned in a gap between the housing and the rotatable and translatable input mechanism. The compressible seal may resist and/or prevent passage of contaminants into the aperture and/or obscure one or more internal components. The compressible seal may be configured to collapse or bend when the rotatable and translatable member translates.

摘要： An operating mechanism of a multifunctional device which can be worn on the wrist and has a housing with integrated electronics. The operating mechanism is integrated into the housing and has an operating element which is a one-piece or multi-piece setting stem. The setting stem partly crosses the housing, and the setting stem is arranged parallel to a planar enlargement of the housing and is rotatably and linearly moveably mounted. The setting stem can be moved linearly parallel to the longitudinal axis and rotatively about the rotational axis/longitudinal axis by a first operating watch button and optionally with a second operating watch button. The movement of the setting stem triggers various contacts on a contact plate, from which contacts electronic signals are sent to the electronics, as a result of which the electronic control of the multifunctional device is effected.
