Abstract:
The invention relates to a method for temporary increasing the power of a gas turbine, which is part of a combined-cycle power plant, wherein the exhaust gas of the gas turbine is used in a heat recovery steam generator to generate steam for a water/steam cycle including a steam turbine with a high pressure steam turbine, an intermediate pressure steam turbine and a low pressure steam turbine, whereby the method comprises the step of injecting steam from the water/steam cycle at a predetermined injection pressure into the gas turbine. The efficiency is improved by taking steam of a lower pressure than the predetermined injection pressure from the water/steam cycle, increasing the pressure of the steam taken from the water/steam cycle to the predetermined injection pressure by subjecting it in separate compressing means to a compression step, and injecting the compressed steam into the gas turbine.

A spray dryer disperser 24, 26, 28, 30 is described for use in a spray dryer absorption (SDA) system 18 for flue gas FG impurity reduction. As such, the spray dryer disperser 24, 26, 28, 30 disperses absorbent liquid or reagent slurry droplets into contact with a hot flue gas FG stream containing gaseous impurities to produce a flue gas FG stream of reduced impurity content and dry powder end products EP. The spray dryer disperser 24, 26, 28, 30 is useful in larger capacity SDA vessels 22 of approximately 12 to 22 meters in diameter or larger, to avoid disperser 24, 26, 28, 30 shroud 34a scale deposits, to avoid reagent slurry spray cloud suppression, to avoid vessel 22 wall 22b scale deposits and to achieve increased droplet rotational momentum for increased droplet flue gas FG penetration for efficient impurity reduction.
Abstract:
A method of determining a leak rate of an insulating gas from a gas-insulated compartment of an electrical installation having a plurality of similar compartments, the method being characterized in that it comprises the steps of; periodically determining a gas density for each of the compartments; determining respective straight lines from series of gas densities for each of the compartments; comparing slopes of the determined lines with one another; detecting a leak if the result of a comparison for one of the slopes is greater than a threshold; and in the event of a leak being detected determining a leak rate for the compartment associated with the slope that lead to a leak being detected.
Abstract:
The present disclosure relates to a chamber for housing strands of a stator bar for electric machines. The problem to provide a reliable chamber for a stator bar of an electric machine is solved with a stator bar chamber engaging a stator bar in an electric machine. The chamber includes a number of hollow conductors in a first straight part of the chamber, a number of hollow conductors in a second tapered part, and a number of hollow conductors and adjacent solid conductors in a third straight part. The first part of the chamber is closed with a ring mounted at the edge of the first part and a nipple adapted to the ring.
Abstract:
There is a method of fault clearance for a voltage source converter that interconnects a DC network and an AC network. The voltage source converter is connected to the DC network via one or more DC circuit interruption devices. The method comprises the steps of: (a) detecting a fault in the DC network; (b) carrying out a primary protection sequence, wherein the step of carrying out the primary protection sequence involves carrying out a first sub-sequence that includes the steps of: i. opening the or each DC circuit interruption device, ii. setting a DC power order of the voltage source converter to zero, iii. controlling the voltage source converter to exchange re-circuit breaker active power with the AC network.
Abstract:
The disclosure pertains to a mounting system for mounting and/or removing a turbine component from a turbine. The mounting system includes a suspended rail structure for moving the turbine component with a traveller which movably connects a holder for holding the turbine component to the rail structure. It further includes a lifter with a support frame which is attachable to the lifter and configured for receiving the turbine component with the holder. The disclosure further refers to a method for mounting and removing a turbine component.
Abstract:
