Abstract: The invention provides a method and system for embedding a watermark in a digital image and recovering the watermark from the digital image. The method includes representing the plurality of binary bits in the watermark using a plurality of symbols, wherein each symbol of the plurality of symbols represents at least two binary bits. The plurality of symbols are then transformed into a plurality of pseudo noise (PN) sequences, wherein a symbol transformed into a PN sequence represents one or more PN sequence vectors from a set of PN sequence vectors. Once the transformation is done, the plurality of PN sequences are embedded in the digital image to generate a watermarked image. During recovery, the watermark is recovered from the watermarked image by identifying the plurality of PN sequences in the watermarked image for recovering the corresponding plurality of symbols associated with the watermark.

Abstract: Methods for removing a material layer from a base substrate utilizing spalling in which mode III stress, i.e., the stress that is perpendicular to the fracture front created in the base substrate, during spalling is reduced. The substantial reduction of the mode III stress during spalling results in a spalling process in which the spalled material has less surface roughness at one of its' edges as compared to prior art spalling processes in which the mode III stress is present and competes with spalling.

A focus is comparing the features of a questionable website to features of a legitimate website. Detection of a phishing website using color IRT includes: requesting access, on at least one computing device, to a web page having a Universal Resource Locator (URL); comparing, using the at least one computing device, the URL of the requested web page to a reference URL within a database stored in a memory; determining, using the at least one computing device, that the URL of the requested web page matches the reference URL; and generating, using the at least one computing device, a message that the web page is legitimate when there is a match between the URL of the requested web page and the reference URL.

Abstract: The invention provides a method and system for dynamically generating a hint to recall a password for a user account of a user. The method for dynamically generating the hint to recall the password for the user account of the user includes the steps of receiving the password for the user account while the user inputs the password field of a login page. The password comprises a plurality of characters. The method, then, converts the password from the plain text to a hash value using a hash function. Thereafter, the method performs a modulo operation on the hash value to obtain an index pointing an object within an object library associated with the user. The method, then, displays, the object as the hint. The hint enables the user to create a mental association between the password and the object for the user account.

Abstract: Super-resolution of dynamic scenes using sampling rate diversity, processes and systems thereof are provided. The method implementing the processes includes: in a first stage, super-resolving secondary low-resolution (LR) images using a set of primary LR images to create LR dictionaries to represent polyphase components (PPCs) of high resolution (HR) patches of images; and, in a second stage, reverting to a single frame super-resolution (SR) applied to each frame which comprises an entire image, using the HR dictionaries extracted from the super-resolved sequence obtain in the first stage.

Abstract: Alumina/NiO/ZnO and Alumina/ZnO are synthesized via a novel modified hydrothermal method and investigated for the desulfurization activities. Sulfur compounds such as thiophene, benzothiophene (BT) and dibenzothiophene (DBT) are tested for their removal from model diesel fuel. The prepared composite materials were examined by the means of N2-adsorption, X-ray diffraction and Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy.

Abstract: Shape memory polymers (SMP) based on poly vinyl alcohol (PVA) in the presence of 2-carboxyethyl acrylate oligomers (CEA), multi-wall carbon nanotubes (MWCNTs) and cross linked by ionizing radiation were investigated. Chemical crosslinking by glutaraldehyde for PVA in the presence of CEA and MWCNTs was also studied. Radiation cross linked SMP exhibits good temperature responsive shape memory behavior as demonstrated by thermal properties of radiation investigated by dynamic mechanical analysis. Transition temperature at Tan δ of radiation cross linked SMP decreased significantly by 6 and 13° C. due to addition of MWCNTs. The developed SMP exhibited promising shape memory behavior of radiation cross linked SMP for biomedical applications between temperatures range of Tan δ. Results on the gel fraction revealed significant reduction in swelling and increase in gelation due to chemical cross linking with glutaraldehyde. The radiation cross linked SMP reached 100% gelation at an irradiation dose of 50 kGy.

Abstract: The disclosed technology generally relates to chalcogenide thin films, and more particularly to ternary and quaternary chalcogenide thin films having a wide band-gap, and further relates to photovoltaic cells containing such thin films, e.g., as an absorber layer. In one aspect, a method of forming a ternary or quaternary thin film chalcogenide layer containing Cu and Si comprises depositing a copper layer on a substrate. The method additionally comprises depositing a silicon layer on the copper layer with a [Cu]/[Si] atomic ratio of at least 0.7, and thereafter annealing in an inert atmosphere. The method further includes performing a first selenization or a first sulfurization, thereby forming a ternary thin film chalcogenide layer on the substrate. In another aspect, a composite structure includes a substrate having a service temperature not exceeding 600° C. and a ternary chalcogenide thin film or a quaternary chalcogenide thin film on the substrate, where the ternary or quaternary chalcogenide thin film comprises a selenide and/or a sulfide containing Cu and Si.
