Abstract: The present invention deals with microgrids, which represent a new approach to integrate distributed energy resources economically reliably and efficiently. A microgrid can operate in a connected mode if it makes an energetic exchange with a main grid or in an island mode otherwise. In its island operation mode, a microgrid ensures its energy self-sufficiency. However, the availability of resources in this mode is greatly influenced by meteorological factors and the microgrid must satisfy the high requirements on intelligent power management in order to achieve high availability of energy. The present invention provides a multi-agent control system based on the production forecasting and loads shedding for high availability of the microgrid power supply.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a method of identifying and preferably quantifying at least one sphingolipid, in particular the sphingolipid portion in wild-type Cordyceps or Cordyceps derivates. A further aspect relates to a method of identifying wild-type Cordyceps in a Cordyceps sample as well as for identifying Cordyceps derivates in a Cordyceps sample. The methods of the present invention, thus, allow for determining the quality and safety of Cordyceps products and for advantageously differentiating between wild-type Cordyceps and Cordyceps derivates via the ratio and/or presence of certain sphingolipids especially suitable as markers.

Abstract: A method of isolating at least one sphingolipid portion selected from a sphingoid base portion, a ceramide portion, a glycosphingolipid portion or a phosphosphingolipid portion from Cordyceps, in particular from wild-type Cordyceps, allows for obtaining sphingolipid portions having an increased amount of one of sphingoid bases, ceramides, glycosphingolipids or phosphosphingolipids. The sphingolipid portions isolated contained significant amounts of sphingolipids not reported so far, and possess exceptional immunosuppressive activities. A method of treating a subject suffering from an inflammatory disease like an autoimmune disease or an allergic disease includes administering sphingolipids isolated from Cordyceps, in particular from wild-type Cordyceps. A method of treating a subject suffering from an inflammatory disease includes administering certain sphingolipids to the subject. Still further in accordance with the present invention is a composition, in particular a pharmaceutical composition comprising at least one sphingolipid portion.

Abstract: In widely deployed wireless “hot-spot” networks, nodes frequently join or leave, inelastic/elastic and saturated/non-satuarted flows coexist. In such dynamic and diverse environments, it is challenging to maximize the channel utilization while providing satisfactory user experiences. In this invention, one proposes a novel contention-on-demand (CoD) MAC scheme to address this problem. The CoD scheme consists of a fixed-CW algorithm, a dynamic-CW algorithm, and an admission control unit. The fixed-CW algorithm allows elastic flows to access limited system bandwidth; the dynamic-CW algorithm enables inelastic flows to contend for channel on demand and quickly adapt to network change; and the admission control unit rejects overloaded traffic for providing good user experiences. One then performs an asymptotic analysis to develop a simple but efficient admission control rule. Finally, extensive simulations verify that the scheme is very effective and the theoretical result is very accurate.

Abstract: Since single and dual-arm tools behave differently, it is difficult to coordinate their activities in a hybrid multi-cluster tool that is composed of both single- and dual-arm tools. Aiming at finding an optimal one-wafer cyclic schedule for a treelike hybrid multi-cluster tool whose bottleneck tool is process-bound, the present work extends a resource-oriented Petri net to model such system. By the developed Petri net model, to find a one-wafer cyclic schedule is to determine robot waiting times. By doing so, it is shown that, for any treelike hybrid multi-cluster tool whose bottleneck tool is process-bound, there is always a one-wafer cyclic schedule. Then, computationally efficient algorithms are developed to obtain the minimal cycle time and the optimal one-wafer cyclic schedule. Examples are given to illustrate the developed method.
