    摘要: A laser light source device, which is capable of multi-wavelength oscillation, includes a laser light source; and a laser cavity including (i) a fiber, (ii) a first fiber grating provided at a side of the fiber toward the laser light source and having a plurality of reflection peaks, and (iii) a second fiber grating provided at a light emission end of the fiber and having a plurality of reflection peaks. Further, the laser light source includes a wavelength converter converting a fundamental wave emitted from the laser cavity into a harmonic wave; a reflection wavelength varying unit shifting reflection wavelengths of the reflection peaks of the second fiber grating; and a controller controlling phase matching conditions of the wavelength converter. As a result, intervals between adjacent reflection peaks of the first fiber grating are different from those between adjacent reflection peaks of the second fiber grating.

    摘要: A 2-dimensional beam scan unit reflects emission beams from a red laser light source, a green laser light source and a blue laser light source and scans in a 2-dimensional direction. Diffusion plates diffuse the respective light beams scanned in the 2-dimensional direction to introduce them to corresponding spatial light modulation elements. The respective spatial light modulation elements modulate the respective lights in accordance with video signals of the respective colors. A dichroic prism multiplexes the lights of the three colors after the modulation and introduces the multiplexed lights to a projection lens so that a color image is displayed on a screen. Since the 2-dimensional light emitted from the beam scan unit is diffused to illuminate the spatial light modulation element, it is possible to change the optical axis of the beam emerging from the light diffusion member for irradiating the spatial light modulation element moment by moment, thereby effectively suppressing speckle noise.

    摘要: Since the absorption of a fundamental wave by a fiber increases if it is tried to obtain a wavelength conversion light of watt-class high output, the fiber length needs to be shortened. However, since oscillation efficiency conversely decreases if the fiber length is shortened, it is difficult to obtain a high-output fundamental wave. Thus, by reflecting an excitation light incident on the fiber in the fiber, the excitation light is efficiently absorbed to amplify the fundamental wave with a high gain. Further, by shortening the fiber length, the absorption of the fundamental wave is also reduced to improve a fundamental wave output. Consequently, a wavelength converter capable of ensuring a stable high output up to watt-class is achieved.

    摘要: A two-dimensional image display device using a Yb-doped clad pump fiber which is a rare-earth-doped fiber as a laser activation substance, whereby a peak of a fluorescence spectrum can be significantly increased as compared with a case of using an oxide crystal, and a variation width of an oscillation wavelength can be increased. Further, since the rare-earth-doped fiber is used as a fiber amplifier without providing laser mirrors at both ends thereof, control for a resonator length, which has been required in a conventional device (wherein an oxide crystal is used as a laser medium), is dispensed with, and thereby high-speed wavelength control is achieved, resulting in reduction in speckle noise when it is mounted on a two-dimensional image display device.

    摘要: A wavelength conversion element is provided with a substrate including a nonlinear optical single crystal having a periodically poled structure, the visible light transmittance of the substrate is 85% or higher when ultraviolet light is irradiated to the substrate, and laser light having an average output of 1 W or more is outputted by shortening the wavelength of laser light having a wavelength of 640 nm to 2000 nm. By improving visible light transmission characteristics when the ultraviolet light is irradiated in this way, the breakdown of crystal can be prevented and the stabilization of output characteristics at high output can be realized. As a result, the absorption of green light induced by ultraviolet light can also be suppressed, and the saturation of output and the breakdown of crystal can be avoided.
