An image processing apparatus comprises a face detection unit configured to periodically perform face detection processing of detecting a face area of a person from an image; an authentication unit configured to periodically perform personal authentication processing for the detected face area; and a calculation unit configured to calculate a determination criterion to select a face area as a target of the personal authentication processing from the detected face areas, wherein the authentication unit performs the personal authentication processing at a cycle longer than that of the face detection processing, and when the face detection unit detects the face areas from a plurality of images, selects a face area complying with the determination criterion calculated by the calculation unit from the face areas of the plurality of images as the target of the personal authentication processing.

An image processing apparatus capable of improving the usability in search by, for a person presumed to be difficult to be misidentified, improving the frequency of identifying the person. When calculated degree of similarity is equal to or greater than a threshold, it is identified that a face of the person corresponds to a face of any one of registered persons. The threshold is set to a second value greater than a first value, for the face of one of the registered persons who has not been identified when starting recording of the image, and the threshold is set to a third value between the first value and the second value, for the face of one of the registered persons who is already identified when starting the recording of the image, after the recording of the shot image to the nonvolatile recording medium is started.

Exemplary embodiments of the invention provide a gaze guidance degree calculation system capable of implementing a compact and low-cost apparatus and surely obtaining a proper eye-flow. According to exemplary embodiments, a layout apparatus where a layout image is segmented into a plurality of regions, and positions of representative regions of the specific regions and gaze attraction strength indicating strength of gaze-attraction to the specific regions are calculated. Next, a plurality of the specific regions in the layout image are set by using a starting point as a reference, and gaze guidance strength indicating a degree of gaze-guidance from the starting point to the specific regions is generated based on the gaze-attraction strength of the representative points in the specific regions.

To aim at improvement of reliability of a semiconductor device of flip chip connection type.In assembling a BGA of flip chip connection type, when a semiconductor chip is solder-connected by a flip chip connection, because solder precoat is formed on the surface of a land on the side of an undersurface of a wiring substrate, the connection between the land and a solder ball, which is an external terminal, is solder-connection, and therefore, it is possible to increase impact resistance of a connection part between the land and the solder ball and to aim at improvement of reliability of the BGA.
