摘要: An optical disk includes a substrate covered with an information recording layer. The information recording layer includes a recording material and a dispersion material dispersed in the recording material. The recording material absorbs recording light for recording information, and then generates heat. As the light refraction index of the recording material changes due to the heat generation, information is recorded on the recording material. The dispersion material has lower absorptance of the recording light and lower thermal conductivity than the recording material, and an external dimension smaller than a diffraction limit of reading light for reading information.

摘要: A rewritable type optical disc includes recording tracks formed with break portions; and recording marks corresponding to predetermined data and formed on the recording tracks. The recording marks are formed over the break portions on the recording tracks. If the predetermined data, such as control data, recorded as the recording mark is illegally altered, the position of the recording marks are changed and some break portions are not covered by the recording marks. Since the return light level of the break portion, which is not covered by the recording mark, is different from the return light level of the break portion covered by the recording mark, such illegal alteration of the predetermined data such as the control data may be detected.

摘要: On a record medium, record information and reservation information to perform a reserved recording operation for the record information are recorded. The reservation information has: a scheduled time to start recording onto the record medium the record information of particular one kind, which is set in advance for respective one of record mediums including the record medium, among the record information of a plurality of different kinds which are recordable on the one record mediums; and a scheduled time to stop recording onto the record medium the record information of the particular one kind.
