An advertisement image classification system trains a binary classifier to classify images as advertisement images or non-advertisement images and then uses the binary classifier to classify images of web pages as advertisement images or non-advertisement images. During a training phase, the classification system generates training data of feature vectors representing the images and labels indicating whether an image is an advertisement image or a non-advertisement image. The classification system trains a binary classifier to classify images using training data. During a classification phase, the classification system inputs a web page with an image and generates a feature vector for the image. The classification system then applies the trained binary classifier to the feature vector to generate a score indicating whether the image is an advertisement image or a non-advertisement image.

A block-request streaming system provides for improvements in the user experience and bandwidth efficiency of such systems, typically using an ingestion system that generates data in a form to be served by a conventional file server (HTTP, FTP, or the like), wherein the ingestion system intakes content and prepares it as files or data elements to be served by the file server, which might include a cache. A client device can be adapted to take advantage of the ingestion process as well as improvements that make for a better presentation independent of the ingestion process. The client devices and ingestion system can be coordinated to have a predefined mapping and template for making block requests to HTTP file names that a conventional file server can accept through the use of URL construction rules. Segment size might be specified in an approximate manner for more efficient organization.

An apparatus and method which enable re-developers to perform complicated user interface development in a simple manner by setting extensible elements and loading thereto add-on application programs. In the apparatus and method of the invention, one or more extensible elements are set in a host user interface application. Then, one or more add-on user interface applications are loaded to one or more of the set extensible elements. The apparatus and method according to the invention can adjust the user interface dynamically, in real-time and finely without the need to close and reboot the application program. An object search system generates a hierarchical clustering of objects of a collection based on similarity of the objects. The object search system generates a separate hierarchical clustering of objects for multiple features of the objects. To identify objects similar to a target object, the object search system first generates a feature vector for the target object. For each feature of the feature vector, the object search system uses the hierarchical clustering of objects to identify the cluster of objects that is most “feature similar” to that feature of the target object. The object search system indicates the similarity of each candidate object based on the features for which the candidate object is similar.

The present invention discloses a method and system for transmitting an ETWS primary notification message. After paging a terminal through a paging message containing ETWS message indication information, a base station schedules the ETWS primary notification message as user data in a sub-frame subsequent to a sub-frame with the paging message and generates control information containing an ETWS ID and resource information on a DL-SCH assigned for the primary notification message of the ETWS; the base station sends the control information over a PDCCH and sends the primary notification message of the ETWS over the DL-SCH based on the control information; and after receiving the paging message, the terminal detects and analyzes the control information containing the ETWS ID by monitoring the PDCCH to obtain the resource information thereof, and receives the ETWS primary notification message on corresponding resources of the DL-SCH based on the resource information.

System and method for approximating a system. A multi-parameter representation of a family of systems is stored. An embedding of the family into an abstract geometrical continuous space with a metric and defined by the parameters is determined. Coordinates of the space specify values for the parameters of systems of the family. The space includes a grid of points representing respective discrete approximations of the systems. A first point corresponding to a desired instance of a system is determined. The first point's coordinates specify values for the parameters of the instance. The space is sampled using a mapping of a well-distributed point set from a Euclidean space of the parameters to the abstract space. A nearest discrete point to the first point is determined which specifies values for parameters for an optimal discrete approximation of the desired instance, which are useable to implement the discrete approximation of the desired instance.

The system includes: a session manager configured to detect a condition that a server will be requested to instantiate an application during a current HTTP session and a session agent configured to: (i) obtain from the server a second HTTP session identifier and (ii) set the second HTTP session identifier in the current session as a HTTP session identifier.
