Abstract:
The present invention relates to a composition including at least one C7 sugar, or derivative from esterification of said sugar, and a pharmaceutically acceptable carrier for treating alopecia. The present invention also relates to a method for cosmetically treating hair and nails, said method being intended to stimulate the growth thereof and/or slow the loss thereof. According to said method, a cosmetic composition including at least one C7 sugar, or derivative from esterification of said sugar, is administered. The present invention finally relates to a method for cosmetic care of hair and/or eyelashes and/or nails.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to an extraction process of an unsaponifiable fraction contained in an oil or a vegetable butter, in an oil originating from a micro-organism, in a concentrate of oil or butter or of oil originating from a micro-organism, or in a co-product of the refining industry for vegetable oils, such as deodorisation exhaust and distillates of physical refining, or oils originating from micro-organisms, comprising at least: A) a transformation step of said oils, of said butter or said co-product of the refining industry for vegetable oils or oils originating from micro-organisms in hydro-alcoholic solution, especially via a saponification step, and B) an extraction step of the hydro-alcoholic solution in which the fatty fraction is separated from unsaponifiable fraction by liquid/liquid extraction, said process being characterised in that at least the liquid/liquid extraction step of the step B is performed by using a first solvent system comprising a solvent content selected from the solvents comprising at least 5 carbon atoms and one or two oxygen atoms in the form of either ether function, or ketone function, or ester function, of at least 50% in volume relative to the total volume of the first solvent system, as well as fractions obtained by said process.

Abstract:
The present application relates to a cosmetic method for preventing and/or treating skin redness, characterized in that a composition comprising arabinogalactan is administered to a person who may form or who is displaying redness. This cosmetic composition can be administered topically or orally.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a process for the solid/liquid extraction of a natural extract contained in at least one vegetable solid or micro-organism comprising at least the following steps: solid/liquid extraction of at least one vegetable solid or micro-organism by a first solvent system comprising a solvent content chosen from the solvents comprising between 5 and 8 carbon atoms and one or two oxygen atoms in ether function, or ketone function, or ester function form, of at least 50% by volume in relation to the total volume of the first solvent system, retrieval of a natural extract, notably comprising or consisting of an oil or a butter, particularly enriched with unsaponifiable.
Abstract:
The invention relates to an avocado extract rich in polyphenols, containing at least 10% by weight of polyphenols, expressed in gallic acid equivalent relative to the dry extract obtained, wherein said polyphenols contain procyanidins, cafeic acid and cafeic acid derivatives, typically in a proportion of at least 70% by weight, expressed in gallic acid equivalent relative to the total polyphenol content by weight. The invention also relates to a composition comprising an extract according to the invention as active agent and a suitable excipient. The invention also relates to such a composition or such an extract for use thereof in preventing or treating disorders or pathological conditions of the skin, the mucous membranes or the superficial body growths. Finally, the invention relates to a cosmetic care process for the skin, the superficial body growths or the mucous membranes, with a view to improving the condition thereof or the appearance thereof, which consists in administering such a composition or such an extract.
Abstract:
The invention concerns the use of at least a fatty ester for preparing a composition designed to inhibit 5α-reductase activity. Said use produces a remarkable inhibiting effect of 5α-reductase thereby providing a novel response for treating dermatological pathologies and/or disorders related to congenital or acquired exaggeration of 5α-reductase activity, in particular for treating prostatic hypertrophy, prostatic adenoma, acne, hyperseborrhea, alopecia and hirsutism. The invention also concerns cosmetic treatment methods, in particular for greasy skin, and the use of said fatty esters as additives in a food product for human and/or animal consumption.
Abstract:
The invention concerns a composition containing at least an alkanolamide, optionally combined with at least a compound such as a metalloprotease inhibitor, a PKC inhibitor, an anti-inflammatory agent, a soothing agent, an immunosuppressor, an ion chelating agent, an oxazolin, an oxazolidinone and a carbamic acid derivative. The invention also concerns the use of such a composition as medicine, in particular its use for preventing or treating skin pathologies of allergic and/or inflammatory and/or irritative origin or resulting from a danger signal. The invention further concerns a method for cosmetic treatment of sensitive, irritated, intolerant, allergy-prone, ageing skin and/or mucosa exhibiting skin barrier disorder, or exhibiting non-pathological immunologic imbalance, which consists in applying such a composition on the skin and/or mucosa.
Abstract:
The invention relates to the use of a compound comprising D-mannoheptulose and/or perseitol for producing a drug for treating and/or preventing diseases related to the modification of an innate and/or acquired immunity by increasing the production of antimicrobial peptides, preferably hBD-2 without inducing inflammatory reactions, irritation or intolerance. Said compound can also comprise a peptidic avocado extract an/or a peptidic lupin extract.
Abstract:
