Abstract:
A painter's tape is formed with a first portion and an adjoining second portion separated by a line of weakness that permits the first and second portions to be physically separated. The painter's tape has a layer of adhesive on one side with a removable protective strip attached to the adhesive layer on the second portion. The tape is folded along the line of weakness and applied to a first surface with the line of weakness defining a paint line between adjacent first and second surfaces. After painting the second surface, the protective strip is removed to expose the adhesive layer on the second portion, which is then flipped over to adhere to the previously painted second surface. The first portion is then removed by separating from the second portion along the line of weakness leaving the second portion to protect the second surface while the first surface is painted.
Abstract:
Embodiments of the present invention generally relate to an ultraviolet protective material incorporating a polyurethane film, and optionally having an ultraviolet protective adhesive layer applied to one side. In one embodiment, an ultraviolet protective material comprises an aliphatic polyurethane film, and an adhesive layer comprising a formulated acrylic pressure-sensitive and an ultraviolet light stabilizer. Alternative embodiments of the present invention provide the ultraviolet protective material may be embodied in various forms, including: single and multi-layer films, adhesive tapes, and resins.
Abstract:
A multi-layer assembly that includes a release liner, a first layer disposed on the release liner, the first layer including a pressure-sensitive adhesive composition that includes a silicone polymer that includes silicone polyurea block copolymers, polydiorganosiloxane polymers, or combinations thereof, a second layer disposed on the first layer, the second layer including a composition that includes an elastomer, the composition of the second layer being different from the pressure-sensitive adhesive composition of the first layer, the first layer of the multi-layer assembly exhibiting a release force to the release liner of no greater than 100 gram per 0.5 inch width after the multi-layer assembly has been stored for 46 days at 120° F.
Abstract:
Adhesive tape with a two-sided acrylate foam backing, each side coated with two different adhesives in distinct segments, one adhesive having high initial bond strength and the other having high ultimate bond strength.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to an anisotropic conductive film with two or more adhesive resins simultaneously formed thereon, such that the two or more adhesive resins are simultaneously formed on a substrate of a flat panel display so as to connect various kinds of devices and flexible circuit boards thereto, thereby reducing the size of a non-display region of the substrate and reducing the number of steps of a manufacturing process. Moreover, with the use of an anisotropic conductive film with two layers of adhesive resins with different conductive particles, an excellent bonding force thereof enables a device or flexible circuit board to be stably mounted on a narrow area.
Abstract:
The invention is also a method of making adhesive tape. The coating step includes drop die coating the plurality of adhesive stripes on the backing without causing any nullnecking-downnull problems of the adhesive stripes. The invention is also a drop die for stripe coating a substrate. A face plate is removably and replaceably mounted across the fronts of die blocks. The face plate has a plurality of orifices such that fluid flowing in the die through the first slot exits through the orifices in the face plate in a plurality of stripes.
