Abstract:
A Mobile Station (MS) operation method for cell selection at initial access in a wireless communication system in which one or more small Base Stations (BSs) are included within a macro BS service coverage area is provided. The method includes performing synchronization based on a preamble signal, after performing the synchronization, transmitting a ranging code to a first BS, after transmitting the ranging code, transmitting a ranging request message including position information of the MS, to the first BS, and receiving a ranging response message including information on at least one candidate BS from the first BS. Thus, the MS can select a BS using position information of the MS in a wireless communication system in which various types of BSs coexist.
Abstract:
An apparatus and method for reduces an overhead caused by an operation transition gap in a Relay Station (RS) of a relay wireless communication system. The method includes identifying a signal delay time with an upper node. A transmission/reception operation transition time is determined through a negotiation with the upper node. An idle time is identified. An overhead caused by a transmission/reception operation transition is determined with consideration of a start time point of an Uplink (UL) subframe dependent on the signal delay time, the transmission/reception operation transition time, and the idle time. And communication is performed considering the overhead. The start time point of the UL subframe is set earlier than a start time point of a UL subframe of the upper node in consideration of the idle time.

A wavelength tunable light source includes: an optical gain medium generating light; a wavelength tunable filter positioned on a optical path and transmitting or reflecting only a predetermined wavelength generated from and injected into the optical gain medium; a first housing where the optical gain medium and the wavelength tunable filter are mounted; and an optical fiber block providing the optical wave having the predetermined wavelength come from the wavelength tunable filter, wherein the wavelength tunable filter comprised of a dielectric thin-film filter formed by alternately stacking a first dielectric thin film layer and a second dielectric thin film layer having different refractive index.
Abstract:
A process for encapsulating pigment dispersions is provided where a pigment is dispersed with a polymeric dispersant in an aqueous solvent system. An acrylate monomer is added and the resultant mixture is polymerized. Optionally, the acrylate monomer may be emulsified in water with an added surfactant or polymeric dispersant and up to 20% acrylic or other vinyl monomers based on the acrylate may be added to acrylate monomer before polymerization. Such encapsulated pigment dispersions may be used in inkjet inks and are stable to heat, aging Lest conditions, and solvent challenges. Prints from these inks have better durability.

Provided is a method and system for transmitting/receiving broadcasting service. The method for transmitting a 3-dimensional broadcasting service includes: encoding a reference image and an additional image of the 3-dimensional broadcasting service to generate a reference image stream and an additional image stream; receiving a service map table defining the 3-dimensional broadcasting service; and transmitting the reference image stream, the additional image stream and the service map table in real time.
Abstract:
A memory system and method utilizing one or more memory modules is provided. The memory module includes a plurality of memory devices and a controller configured to receive control information from a system memory controller and to produce module control signals. The memory module further includes a plurality of circuits, for example byte-wise buffers, which are configured to selectively isolate the plurality of memory devices from the system memory controller. The circuits are operable, in response to the module control signals, to drive write data from the system memory controller to the plurality of memory devices and to merge read data from the plurality of memory devices to the system memory controller. The circuits are distributed at corresponding positions separate from one another.
Abstract:
Protocol structure of a mobile station, base station or relay station in a wireless access system is provided. The protocol structure includes a first function block configured to perform radio resource control and management as a MAC layer and to reside on a control plane, and a second function block configured to perform medium access control as the MAC layer and to reside on the control plane and a data plane. The first function block includes various function blocks for supporting high reliability.
Abstract:
A semiconductor device comprises an active region having an upper portion and a sidewall portion which are protruded from the top surface of a device isolation region, and a silicide film disposed in the upper portion and the sidewall portion of the active region, thereby effectively reducing resistance in a source/drain region of the semiconductor device. As a result, the entire resistance of the semiconductor device comprising a fin-type gate can be reduced to improve characteristics of the semiconductor device.
