摘要: A blank detection circuit and method which detects a blank of a reproduced signal read from a recording medium such as are optical disc and which includes an edge detector which detects edges of the reproduced signal and detects an interval between the detected edges, a maximum value/minimum value detector which detects an amplitude of the reproduced signal in response to the detected edges and provides a maximum value or a minimum value of the detected amplitude, and a determiner which determines whether the reproduced signal is the blank according to the inter-edge interval detected in the edge detector and/or the maximum value or minimum value detected in the maximum value/minimum value detector. Since a blank component of the reproduced signal read from the optical disc is quickly detected, and a blank signal is generated at an accurate point in time, reliability of the entire system is enhanced.

摘要: A code modulation and demodulation method includes removing a DC component of a code stream to be modulated when source data is recorded on an optical information storage medium and controlling a suppression of the DC component contained in the code stream when the source data is converted into a codeword to be recorded on an optical information storage medium. The method includes determining a control timing to suppress the DC component of the code stream to which the source data are converted, performing a code conversion at each control time for the DC component so that the code stream branches into a pair of branch code streams one of which extends in a direction where a running digital sum (RDS) of the code stream increases, and another one of which extends in the direction where the RDS of the code stream decreases, and selecting the path of the code stream that has a most bounded path around RDS ‘0’ from the paths of the branch code streams each control time. By performing a regular DC suppression control when the source data is converted, and by selecting one of the branch code streams when the DC suppression control is performed, more DC components in the code stream can be effectively removed.

摘要: A remote-controlled mobile cleaning device for removal and collection of high radioactive waste debris in a spent nuclear fuel process and fabrication area, such as a hot-cell, is disclosed. The device includes navigation means for moving it to the desired cleaning location and climbing over such obstacles as electrical cables and pneumatic tubes placed on the hot-cell floor to be cleaned, suction and collection means for dislodging, filtering, and capturing high radioactive waste debris, and cover means for protecting suction and collection means. The device that is operated by remote control cleans and collects loose dry spent nuclear fuel powder and other high-radioactive waste debris adhered to both the contaminated in-cell floor and the in-cell spent nuclear fuel process and fabrication equipment, without spreading inside the hot-cell.

摘要: A method of detecting a frequency of a digital phase locked loop in an optical disc reproduction and/or recording apparatus, which includes (a) detecting an edge point of an input signal, (b) sampling a previous and following input signal on the basis of the detected edge point into a predetermined frequency, (c) counting a number of reference clock signals between the detected edge point and a sample which is positioned previously, adding a count value and an interval of time corresponding to the count value to obtain a frequency count value at the edge point, and (e) comparing the obtained frequency count value with a predetermined reference value, to enhance the frequency according to the comparison result can detect frequency having high resolution with only a reference clock frequency without heightening a frequency of a reference clock signal, to thereby enhance the quality of data. The frequency having the high resolution with only the reference clock frequency without heightening the frequency of the reference clock signal is detected, to thereby enhance the quality of data.

摘要: A swing angle measuring apparatus generates feedback signals for closed loop regulation of a load swinging motion in operation of a crane. The swing angle measuring apparatus measures two-dimensional swing angles, and includes a rope fixed to a hoisting device, two laser displacement sensors, laser reflecting plates, and a rectangular box attached to a hoisting device. Two steel reflecting plates are installed on the periphery of the fixed rope. Two laser displacement sensors are installed in a rectangular box such that the heading of the sensors are configured to perpendicularly intersect the faces of the laser reflecting plates. The configuration of the displacement sensors and the reflecting plates can be reversed. The rectangular box is attached to the hoisting device, and the laser reflecting plates are placed at an offset distance away from the face of the laser displacement sensors, at which a sensor signal of 0 volts is obtained. The swing angle of the rope or cable is determined from the distance between the laser displacement sensors and the laser reflecting plates.

摘要: A power management system includes a plurality of electrical instruments and a power management apparatus. Each of the plurality of electrical instruments has at least one characteristic function and an arbitration function which is discriminated from the characteristic function and requires power arbitration. Each electrical instrument includes a plurality of operation algorithms having at least one characteristic function, operation levels respectively corresponding to the plurality of operation algorithms, power information for the respective operation levels, and power information of the arbitration function. The power management apparatus receives power rate information from a power provider, determines the operation levels of the plurality of electrical instruments and controls the electrical instruments to be driven at the determined operation levels. When an arbitration function selection signal is received from at least one of the electrical instruments while the electrical instruments are driven, the power management apparatus adjusts operation levels of other electrical instruments.
