In an illustrative operation, an exemplary base station can engage one or more selected pilot channel control operations as part of pilot channel optimization comprising a jump detection technique, operating power control on another channel other than the DPCCH, engaging in delayed power control, engaging in a soft-handoff power control in the instance of a boosted pilot channel, and resolving ambiguity in grant messages resulting from a pilot boost.

    摘要: Methods and apparatuses are provided for uplink MIMO transmissions in a wireless communication system. In particular, a single inner loop power control may be utilized to control a power of both a primary stream and a secondary stream, in a system where the power of the secondary stream is linked to the power of the primary stream. That is, a single transmit power control command calculated according to the primary stream and directly controlling the power of the primary stream can effectively control the power of both uplink streams. Further, the disclosure provides outer loop power control, where a signal-to-interference ratio target used in the inner loop power control can be adjusted. Here, the SIR target may be adjusted in accordance with at least one of a block error rate performance or a HARQ failure performance of one of the primary stream or the secondary stream.

    摘要: Systems and methods for dynamically adjusting the transmission time interval (TTI) for a communications system are presented. The described aspects provide for dynamically adjusting the TTI in a communication session between a base station or nodeB and a wireless device or user equipment between a shorter TTI, which can provide increased data throughput and lower power consumption, and a longer TTI, which can provide more rugged communication link connections. By dynamically adjusting the TTI, the communications link can be optimized for the given communication channel conditions. Determinations, based on indicia related to the communications system conditions, can be employed in dynamic TTI adjustment. These determinations can be formed centrally at the Radio Network Controller (RNC), at the RNC supplemented with user equipment (UE) available information, or formed in a distributed manner between the RNC and UE across a communications system.

    摘要: Techniques for supporting UE operation with enhanced uplink are described. A UE may select a first signature from a first set of signatures available for random access for enhanced uplink, generate an access preamble based on the first signature, and send the access preamble for random access while operating in an inactive state. The UE may receive an acquisition indicator (AI) for the first signature on an acquisition indicator channel (AICH) from a Node B. The UE may use a default enhanced dedicated channel (E-DCH) resource configuration for the first signature if the AI has a first predetermined value. The UE may determine an E-DCH resource configuration allocated to the UE based on an extended acquisition indicator (EAI) and a second signature if the AI has a second predetermined value. In any case, the UE may send data to the Node B using the allocated E-DCH resource configuration.
