摘要: A server computer includes a performance monitor module and a throttling logic module. The performance monitor module includes performance monitors that monitor system parameters of the server computer. The throttling logic module determines whether a system parameter monitored by a performance monitor exceeds a predetermined threshold. When a system parameter exceeds a predetermined threshold, the throttling logic module sets a throttling flag. The throttling logic module activates throttling at the server computer when at least one throttling flag is set for each of a predetermined number of time snapshots. The activation of throttling limits the processing of request messages received by the server computer.

摘要: A method and system for inspecting a semiconductor wafer. The method includes providing an illumination flux through a pattern plate and a lens to a surface of a specimen to project a pattern onto the surface of the specimen. The pattern is associated with the pattern plate. Additionally, the method includes detecting the illumination flux reflected from the surface of the specimen with a detector, processing information associated with the detected illumination flux, and generating a first image based on at least information associated with the detected illumination flux. The first image includes a first image part for the pattern and a second image part for the specimen. Moreover, the method includes adjusting the lens to a state in order to achieve a first predetermined quality for the first image part, and moving the specimen to a first position.

摘要: An article includes a stack of display layers including a display layer having a high-shear modulus that is sandwiched between two display layers having a low-shear modulus. The display layers include a light-emitting device that generates heat and light during use. The heat generated by the display layers may form localized heat-sources in the stack. The display layer with the high-shear modulus is a thermal transport layer through which the localized heat-sources-induced guided elastic waves propagate along an acoustic waveguide plane and can transport the heat generated by the light-emitting device away from the light-emitting device. Alternately, a display layer having a high refractive index may be sandwiched between two display layers having a low refractive index. The display layers with low shear modulus or low refractive index may be replaced with thermal transport layers having low shear modulus or low refractive index respectively.

摘要: An object table is provided between a file system interface of a host and a multimedia device so that the host is capable of accessing objects stored in the multimedia device regardless of incompatibility between file formats respectively used in the file system and the multimedia device. At least one index of the stored object is stored in the object table. A file accessing architecture is constructed in the object table, where the file accessing architecture has at least one API recognizable for the file system interface. Therefore, the host is capable of accessing the objects stored in the multimedia device though the file system interface and the constructed file accessing architecture.

摘要: The present invention relates to a method of changing between a plurality N of distinct services, e.g. television channels, receivable on a receiving unit, such as a mobile phone/cellular phone, a personal digital assistant (PDA), a handheld television unit, or similar devices. The receiving unit is adapted to receive the plurality of services in a time slicing mode with services being arranged in a certain time slice sequence. The receiving unit is capable of receiving a first service (S1). When “zapping” from the first service to a second service, the second service (S4) being chosen is the currently next service in time within the time slice sequence so as to minimize the time (t2) between service changes. Thereby, a fast method of changing between services is provided in a simplified manner, the speed of change reaching the theoretical maximum when using time slicing.

摘要: A shredder feeder includes a pair of rotary blade rollers, an insertion assembly including an insertion slot, a spring biased raised safety panel enclosing the insertion slot, a safety switch, an emergency indicator, and a feeding and removal selection switch. In one operation in response to winding an object other than documents, CDs, and credit cards into the insertion slot or clogging, pressing the safety panel will switch the feeding and removal selection to a removal mode for removing the object, and disable the blade rollers in response to the removal. Alternatively, pressing the safety panel will switch the safety switch to disable the blade rollers and enable the emergency indicator for informing a user to switch the feeding and removal selection switch to the removal mode. Further, pressing the safety panel will disable the blade rollers in response to no object in the insertion slot.
