摘要: A method for producing an oxazoline derivative from a non-protected sugar in a simple manner and a method for producing a glycoside by utilizing the product of the aforementioned method are disclosed. A sugar oxazoline derivative is synthesized in one step in an aqueous solution from a sugar having a free hemiacetal hydroxy group and an amide group by using a haloformamidinium derivative as a dehydration/condensation agent. A glycoside is produced by using the oxazolidine derivative as a sugar donor and also using a sugar dehydrogenase. The method can be applied to the production of a compound having a long sugar chain, and is therefore useful for a production of a physiologically active oligosaccharide, a carrier for a drug delivery system, a surfactant, a carbohydrate pharmaceutical, a glycopeptide, a glycoprotein, a carbohydrate polymer or the like.

A pair of coupling portions (14, 14) are formed to hold an optical portion (12) between them in one direction perpendicular to the optical axis, wherein the outer fringe parts of the coupling portions (14, 14) are made thicker than the outer fringe part of the optical portion (12), a pair of supporting portions (16, 16) are formed to project from the outer fringe parts of the coupling portions (14, 14) and a edge contour part (32) is formed continuously on the outer fringe parts of the optical portion (12) and respective posterior surfaces (20, 24) of the coupling portions (14, 14) so as to extend smoothly along the entire circumference thereof.

摘要: An ink supplying and collecting apparatus includes a case, ink cartridges detachably attached to the case, and a collecting container detachably attached to the case. The ink cartridges supply ink to a recording head of a printer via ink supply tubes. The collecting container collects ink drained from the recording head via an ink drain tube. The case is located outside of and is separate from the printer. Thus, the sizes and shapes of the ink cartridges and the collecting container can be freely designed.

A synchronous structure is set up where at least two reliefs whose first order diffracted lights give respective focal distances different from one another are set to overlap with each other in at least a part of an area in a radial direction of a diffraction lens, and with respect to every grating pitches of one relief having the maximum grating pitch among the reliefs set up in overlap, grating pitches of another relief are overlapped periodically; and the resulting relief pattern is formed on a surface of an optical material.

摘要: A liquid ejecting head has a pressure chamber into which liquid flows from a liquid reservoir through a liquid passage, and a pressure generating unit operable to pressurize the liquid in the pressure chamber to eject the liquid through a nozzle opening. A gas trapping chamber is formed in the liquid passage and adapted to trap gas mixed in the liquid. A gas collecting chamber is formed adjacent to the gas trapping chamber. A gas permeable wall is interposed between the gas trapping chamber and the gas collecting chamber. A pressure difference generating unit is operable to generate a pressure difference between the gas trapping chamber and the gas collecting chamber so that a pressure in the gas collecting chamber is lower than a pressure in the gas trapping chamber, thereby collecting the gas trapped in the gas trapping chamber in the gas collecting chamber through the gas permeable wall.
