Abstract: Methods, computer readable media, and wireless apparatuses are disclosed. The apparatuses including processing circuitry configured to: associate with a master station, decode a frame, where the frame comprises a first duration and a transmitter address and determine that the frame is an intra basic service set (Intra-BSS), an inter (Inter-BSS), or an unclassified frame, where the unclassified frame is the Intra-BSS frame or the Inter-BSS frame. The processing circuitry may be further configured to set an Intra-BSS network allocation vector (NAV) to the first duration if the first duration is longer than a current duration of the Intra-BSS NAV and the frame is determined to be the intra-BSS frame and set the second NAV to the first duration if the first duration is longer than a current duration of the second NAV and the frame is determined to be the inter-BSS frame or the unclassified frame.

A HEW device is disclosed that includes circuitry configured to receive a multi-user request-to-send (MU-RTS); copy a scramble seed from the MU-RTS to a clear-to-send (CTS) packet; and transmit the CTS packet.

Abstract: Apparatuses, computer readable media, and methods for scheduling trigger frames in a high-efficiency wireless (HEW) local-area network are disclosed. An apparatus of a HEW master station is disclosed. The HEW master station includes transceiver circuitry and processing circuitry configured to transmit a random access trigger frame (TF-R) to a plurality of HEW stations, and receive resource requests from one or more of the plurality of HEW stations in response to the TF-R. The transceiver circuitry and processing circuitry is further configured to transmit an indication when a trigger frame is to be transmitted. The trigger frame is to comprise resource allocations in response to the resource requests. An apparatus of a HEW station may enter a power save mode until a time when a trigger frame is scheduled that includes resource allocations in response to resource requests transmitted to a master station from the HEW station.

Abstract: Methods, apparatuses, and computer readable media for pre-association frame exchange using random access are disclosed. An apparatus of a high-efficiency wireless local-area network (HEW) master station is disclosed. The apparatus includes transceiver circuitry and processing circuitry which may be configured to generate a trigger frame for uplink random access (TF-R), and transmit the TF-R. The transceiver circuitry and processing circuitry may be further configured to receive one or more responses in accordance with orthogonal frequency division multiple-access (OFDMA) to the trigger frame from one or more pre-association stations where the responses comprise pre-association identifiers corresponding to the one or more pre-association stations. Moreover, the transceiver circuitry and processing circuitry may be further configured to generate one or more acknowledgements to the one or more pre-association stations, and transmit the acknowledgements in accordance with OFDMA to the one or more pre-association stations.

Abstract: An apparatus of a first high-efficiency (HE) access point (AP) or station for spatial reuse is the disclosed. The apparatus includes processing circuitry configured to: decode a first portion of a first packet; and if the first portion indicates the first packet was transmitted by a second HE AP or station and that the first packet is an overlapping basic service set (OBSS) packet, then if a preamble detect energy is below a threshold, cause to be transmitted a second packet simultaneously with a portion of the first packet after the first portion. The processing circuitry may be configured to determine the first portion was transmitted by the second HE AP or station if a field in a physical (PRY) header or a second field in a media access control (MAC) header indicate the first packet was transmitted by the second HE AP or station.

Abstract: Methods and apparatus are disclosed for scheduling a narrowband uplink transmission from a wireless station to a wireless access point in response to a station-specific wideband downlink transmission from the access point to the station. A station-specific downlink frame includes a station identifier associated with the station, and further includes resource allocation information associated with an uplink transmission channel over which the station is to transmit an uplink frame. The station-specific downlink frame is transmitted from the access point to the station over a downlink transmission channel having an associated downlink bandwidth. Based on the resource allocation information, the access point receives the uplink frame from the station over the uplink transmission channel. The uplink transmission channel has an associated uplink bandwidth that is narrower than the downlink bandwidth of the downlink transmission channel. In some disclosed examples, the uplink transmission channel is a sub-channel of the downlink transmission channel.

Abstract: Example methods disclosed herein for a station in a communication system include accessing a response frame received in response to a control frame transmitted to an access point. The response frame indicates a start time for a trigger frame to be transmitted by the access point to trigger the station to transmit an uplink transmission. Disclosed example methods also include controlling a receiver of the station to receive the trigger frame at the indicated start time. Example methods disclosed herein for an access point in a communication system include transmitting a response frame to a station in response to a control frame received from the station. The example response frame indicates a start time for a trigger frame to be transmitted by the access point to trigger the station to transmit an uplink transmission. Abstract: Example systems, methods, and devices for channel access in dense wireless networks are discussed. More specifically, methods may include transmitting one or more trigger frames from an access point to one or more communication stations, the one or more trigger frames comprising a plurality of components, the plurality of components indicating whether trigger frames within a beacon interval are scheduled in a periodic or aperiodic manner, and if periodic trigger frames are scheduled, then indicating a countdown to the next trigger frame, and if aperiodic trigger frames are scheduled, then indicating the time to the next trigger frame scheduled by the access point. Methods, apparatus, and systems described herein can be applied to 802.11ax or any other wireless standard.
